#2

#3
Argh just 48 hours ago I brought one from Tesco Direct for £39.97 and I thought that was a decent price. Good find and hot in this corner.
#4
Been this price b4, got one point to notes

1) The cable is VERY short - very annoying.
2) The lid is made from cheap tin - but that said it has lasted 2/3+ years so far

Apart from that very good
#5
that is what I call a bargain
#6
Recently bought one for about £60 at Tesco. Tres gutted.
#7
also half price on the official store, £34.99 delivered but good source of info and ideal for those who prefer home delivery.

Pointless without removeable plates

I agree.. cheap, but a nightmare to clean..

Removable plates are the best option..
#15
thanks for that. I have been looking for a good deal on one of these for a while. Mines reserved now.
#16
No need for removable plates, i have the one with a flat grill for eggs, mushrooms etc, but i use the end crusts from loaves of bread to clean the grooved side, as it soaks up the fat and removes the charcoal.

Then chuck the bread out for the birds - everyone wins

Bet you there are some slight overweight birds around your area :w00t:

Great deal, have just reserved one. Many Thanks:thumbsup:

Hi, re comments on the removable plates being better - I have tried both removable and fixed and the removable ones although very easy to clean, are inferior in heat distribution so much so that some food was undercooked, so we ended up having to keep moving it around towards the centre of the plates

If you google foreman grills/reviews (and even posts on this forum) you will see others having this problem.

I now have the 'fixed' plate family grill and I reckon after a heavy dose of burger/chracoal spray, it takes less than 5 mins to clean using a mild scrim (so it doesnt take the teflon off) - and use a bit of kitchen roll to soak up any stuff that sits in the sides!

Good price all the same, but watch heat distribution

Whats so wrong in turning two waste products into something useful.

Aren't we all here to do get more for our money? is that so different?

Its even easier than that - no need for a special cleaner. I know you get bits of meat 'spot welded' to the surface at the end of cooking, but the secret is to let it cool and lightly spray a bit of water on the stuck on bits. Leave it for about half an hour and you'll then be able to lightly wipe it off with a cloth or kitchen roll. If anything is left just repeat the process. Oh and leave the drip tray in place for obvious reasons. I've had one for years and it still looks good as new despite fairly regular use.

No thanks, prefer to have the goodness of my meat retained instead of all the taste and flavour dripped out it!

A decent enough deal for a good product, and a very good deal if you can combine purchases to get the £5 voucher.

Robert Dyas have a more recent model in black (model #17873) for the same price if you buy instore. It has almost identical specs to the Argos model (#14053). Delivery is £5.95 but you can get a couple of quid back through quidco (8%). An online store (that I've never heard of before) called "Discount Den" also have the newer black model for £29.99 with free delivery.

I think these models are around the £40 mark from other retailers (don't be fooled by the £68.49 original price quoted by Argos). Having said that, Heritage Home and Garden have then on their website for £87.69 :w00t: "The BIG Home and Garden shop with small prices" - yeah right!

I'm still on the early model with timer/temp control and it's doing the business after several years of service. Teflon is still intact thanks to a bit of TLC.

I've found that the easiest way to clean it is to give it a wipe with a damp cloth whilst it is cooling down. If you let it cool down first, switch it on for a short while in order to loosen up the burnt on bits before giving it the once over with a damp cloth. Just don't burn yourself!
#35
I never clean mine and just burn the germs off before I cook

Do a quick google search for GRV80, it is this price in quite a few places. I bought one last month from Tesco it calls it GRV80 on their website but it is says 14053 on the box etc the same as this deal.
Just checked Tesco website and it is still on reduced from £68.40 to £30 allegedly.

Here is the hotukdeals link to when it was even cheaper, and it didn't get as hot as this deal (no pun intended). http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/620894/george-forman-family-grill-27-39-ar

I agree that it has been cheaper. However, considering the other places I can see, this is the cheapest when delivery costs are taken into account (apart from the fact you need to pick this item up).

If you can find it cheaper or the same price delivered, I am interested because it will save me a journey out today.

No I can't find cheaper delivered but I can match it, which might be of use to someone else.

You can pick it up at tesco's for the same price, order online and it is eligible for store pick up. It looks as though it is £5 pickup but follow the order through and choose collect from store for free.

Spend £50 though and it does qualify for free delivery, which technically might make it cheaper for someone needing another item from Tesco.

If you have a large Tesco then they have them on the shelf(that is what I did) I was out shopping anyway so it did not matter about saving on delivery.
