Hot but watch the side catches on these - they open upwards & mine fell down when closing the lid & the plastic clips melted to the inside of the grill.
Partly my fault for using it while half asleep & partly stupid positioning of the clips, but once they are gone, it is a nightmare to store safely as you can't stand it upright.

I have exactly the same problem, i think this could have warned by putting a sticker on the top for the first time user unfortunately it didn't. I like the machine very efficent but sometimes it could be a nightmare to clean, I personly would not recommend this model to anyone as I have seen better designed ones in the shop.

By the way, I paid silimlar price for it last year on amazon.

Just bought one, the catch on this one is attached to the bottom of the unit & open downwards, so no problem now
