I've ad a cubot (great phone an build quality, only cons was camera wasn't perfect in low light) ... a Blu (PROS good battery life fast and CHEAP AS CHIPS ! CONS .. camera and not as premium feel as cubot) mi 4 ... excellent all round ! .. people moan about the China phones but I loved my galaxy s5 lost it bought a few Chinese for a quarter of the price and been made up with them all ! .. plus u can sell them on and buy the latest. ... well decent enough! for £65 ! ... in the words of Charlie sheen ... # WINNING !

Just checking the review. £65 is very cheap for what it is... Any other alternatives that are more better known?

Heated from me, worth a punt if you're on a budget.

In my experience most of these budget 'unbranded' Chinese phones are great. They are just made by Oem's who supply the major brands anyway. The software can sometimes be lacking but no problems usually with the hardware.

Showing your ignorance there, a lot of these 'Chinese'(even though everything is made in China, yes, even your iPhone) phones are great value for money. Heat from me ;)

Have to agree. Probably 75% or more of electronics we use in our day to day lives are made either in China or South Korea (including mobile phones and the holy grail, the iPhone) yet we diss anything 'Made in China'.!!

Does anyone have experience using DHL for shipping phones from Gearbest? What's the liklihood of having to pay customs duties?

don't use dhl, use basic free shipping.

Excellent deal OP - I don't need to swap my Android phone but just did anyway! I've used Gearbest before & the item shipped via DHL. I've had stuff get through without customs duty but I've also had to pay it as well. I believe at this price point, it should only be VAT that gets added if anything, which still makes it a great value phone for about £77 (£65.71 with shipping insurance). Don't forget TCB though. Mine's tracked at £4.18 :)

My son had a moto z for his birthday and i am so jealous but also very skint. I'll get this and lie through my teeth to him and tell him that this cost at least 200 quid...lol

Try the sapphire blue. Still £63.64

Never had one of these, but for £63,64 (sapphire blue) for my lad, it should do the trick and like has already been said; I could just resell it for a slight loss. Heat

I think there are some great phones out of China - Huwaei, Oneplus are really good mid to high level phones, and Xiaomi has started making seriously good stuff now - would not be too quick to diss chinese phones.

Another option with a faster processor and 1080p screen, but only 2Gb ram.

16gb ROM not big enough for apps these days imo. But as a spare/2nd phone or a fully functioning sat nav/fitness tracker, mp3/mp4 player, the price is pretty astonishing.

The only real problem I have with these Chinese phones for me is that they never have the 'heavy duty' cases I like. :(

Here's a few reviews:

More in-depth: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6B9PXmryrT0

Great price, reviews seem quite promising!

Summing up so far: Close to stock Android. All plastic, bit of a fingerprint magnet. A removable battery too, which makes a change for a phone from this price point. Takes a while to charge. Low light pictures seem poor, apparently it has some scratch resistant glass on the screen. No gyroscope, it seems. Good GPS. Great HD screen, good brightness for its price - called "TrueView" which has a blue light filter, kinder for your eyes? SD card slot and Dual-SIM slots (Mini- and Micro-SIM). Doesn't have an OTG feature.

Agreed!.

As via DHL is likely to attract Customs & Excise costs!.

So, take heed ...

Both yours and the previous Posters comments are valid really?.

As some with Chinese BLU Phones say they suck? (and some don't ... )

Whereas other's would rather swear by their Motorola Phones instead? (or end up steering clear of them because of their lack of Customer Services/Software Support, etc etc etc, and would rather swear by a Samsung instead, or whatever?).

And they're alllllll Chinese/South Korean Phones regardless ...

So, kinda depends as to what each persons individual game is really?.

Yousers! the silver one is now £87.32, whilst the arguably better looking deep blue is still £63.64. Gearbest also gives a 'British Direct' shipping option for free at checkout. I've used this before whilst buying e-ciggie type items and they've always arrived within a week, without any nasty customs surprises.

On the plus side, the software is usually stock, or close to stock, Android, which makes a refreshing change to the bloat seen in your megabucks LG or Samsung. Just as clean as Google intended, little added and little taken away.

Both now £63.64.

Great deal OP. Heated.

been using an Oukitel Pro15 for a while now, cost about £85 last year, lovely phone v similar specs 3gb ram, 5.5" screen etc. but with fingerprint sensor too. Chinese unknown brands used to suffer from poor GPS but not anymore, only downside is maybe the camera in low light. Deliveries tend to take 2-3 weeks for me on free option, never been charged import tax
