Gerber Suspension Multi-Tool £18.00 Sold by Hi-Fidelity and Fulfilled by Amazon
Great little multi-tool, cheapest I've ever seen it and fulfilled by amazon. Can buy direct from amazon for 23p more..... not sure what the benefit is though?

Its a nice looking tool and will probably purchase anyway as I have a good few leatherman tools and would like to see how this stands up.
It is illegal to carry in public without good cause. There are still legitimate reasons to carry such knives in public without breaking the law.
What does it matter if it's locking, in the eyes of the law? You could just as easily stab someone with a standard Swiss army knife - can't see a difference personally...
EDIT:
I just did a bit of research and it turns out there is absolutely no logical reason behind this - merely a lawyer once said since the blade is locked, it is effectively a fixed blade. More legal stupidity...
Also, you can carry them around 100% legally:
1. for use at work;
2. for religious reasons; or
3. as part of any national costume.
But, you can't for self defence. So if you ever get mugged/attacked, just think "I'm glad I didn't break the stupid law by defending myself, shame I'm dying now"...

Either way it is illegal.....Remember that when your getting shoved into the old jail because you thought it was usefull.

It's for you to justify why you have it in a public place though. If you're "at work" in a public place whilst in possession then that's ok, if your on your days off and have it on you because you use it in your job, then no it's not okay. Work isn't the only justification though, being in a remote place camping would be a reasonable excuse.
The logical reason for it being illegal is its easier to stab someone with a locked blade than one that folds away, hense being more dangerous

As for the legality, its got to be totally random/depends on who you ask as you could quite easily stab someone with a pen.

Well said SD. I'd happily stab someone in the throat if I were being attacked, with a knife, a pen or whatever came to hand. I wouldnt carry one mind you, but yet again the law fails us.
I have one of these gerber suspension tools. The are an absolute bargain compared to leatherman. If you are in the wilderness and your life depended on it working then I would buy something more expensive but around the house this is perfect.

To add to the discussion, apparently the statistics show that many people are stabbed with their own knife by somebody else and that this is the best reason for not carrying one.

Suspect that's people in a rather different situation to the average poster on here.
I do have a locking swiss army knife which I use for work that may be on me generally - having spoke to a friend in the police, it shouldn't be an issue as I do have legitamate reasons etc. Wouldn't want to use it for 'self defence' really anyway - is useful to generally have and appreciate the locking blade, though need to get it sharpened now (seen a lot of use since 09 when I got it.)
A bit off-topic but thought it was slightly relevant.
Ordered one of these anyway :)
