Orange give 10% off any contract if your NHS, Millitary, Police, Local goverment (teachers council workers etc.) Emergency services Mod Civi Staff ETC. And FAMILY MEMBERS/ FRIENDS (Max 5 per person) (they also give discount to other companies you just need to check - edit - HSBC, RBS, LLOYDS, NETWORK RAIL, MC Donnalds, Coca Cola, Tesco etc)
Basically just about anyone on Orange can get 10% off or £20 off a new PAYG handset.

all you need to do is take your Id into store they fax a copy off and hay presto 10% off your contract. Its saving me £70 on my contarct, and you can do this when you have a discounted tarrif like i do.

I got a HTC desire on a panther35 but discounted down to £25 then with another 10% off.

hope this hasnt been posted before, could not see it. Just trying to save people some ££££'s

I went in to store to get this and they got a bit arsey (as usual for Orange shops), best ringing Orange direct for the 10% off tariff. Don't know about handsets though, I guess you will have to go to store for them.

i've been with orange for years and i havent heard of this. can i still get the discount or is it for new customers?
#3
No thats the whole point anyone can get it! New or existing customers, they dont really advertise this, but i can assure you that they do do it.

my Gf pays £10 a month retention offer and still get the discount (comes up as corporate discount on our bills)

Not just for NHS Staff, they also allow their immediate family the discount to

why so cold? Im sure some people could benefit from this, and if it is open to family members then im sure nearly everyone could get this.

For me getting (back in may) Free HTC DESIRE 600mins, unlimited data, unlimited texts, 50mms & sat nav 24month contract for £22 a month (very good deal IMHO)

I've been with them for years and never heard about this. I have two iphone contracts with Orange - can I get 10% off???
#7
yes, if you qualify! - bring in a pay slip / id card into your local store. They will fax it off and you will get 10% off - comes up as corporate discount.

Sounds good. Wifey works for the NHS so I'll give it a go.
As a matter of interest, the OP says that 'the discount is given to other companies'.
How do you find out who they are?

Good if you can get it but as the T&C's show...

"not available on OVP talk plans, promotional bundles, Talkshare, Direct talk plans, Web talk plans, iPhone plans or SIM Only."

I understand it says this, however i know a friend of mine again in the military gets 10% off his iphone plan, and my GF gets 10% off her promotional tarrif. I believe this is a "get out" clause so they dont have to honnor it, however in my experiance they do honnor it.

Good to hear. I'll give it a go as the wife is elligible however both of us have orange iphone plans. I've been with Orange on contract since 1995 without a break in service and even with that behind me I've found it really difficult recently to get any good will or lenient views of T&C's in my favour from them. However I really hope I'm wrong as I could do with a discount!

This may sound an odd question, but what if you are a volunteer with one of the named services? Retained Firefighter or Special Constable for example? Neither are technically employed so wouldn't have payslips as such, it would be more expenses than pay in the payslips.

TO be perfectly honnest i dont know, you would have a ID card so i think they would honnor it.

Can you get the discount on an existing contract that already had a £10 off offer? And how would you do it over the phone?
#17
T'missus is going in to buy a PAYG phone in an hour or so and she is a teacher. Found this in the nick of time :)
