Get 2 free tickets to Alton Towers resort worth £79

Starts in next Saturdays Sun
Collect nine tokens

Saturday Sun is 60p
Weekday Sun is 25p/30p

---
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/travel/article2280906.ece

HERE'S how to get your FREE pair of tickets to the Alton Towers Theme Park, worth £79!

Five steps to a successful application

STEP ONE: Collect NINE differently numbered tokens from the fourteen that we'll be printing in The Sun and News of the World. The first token will be printed on Saturday March 5. Applications without the correct number of tokens will be void.

STEP TWO: Complete all sections of the application form after reading the offer terms and conditions. You MUST choose 5 date bands from the 11 provided, in your order of preference, in the spaces provided on the ticket application form. Applications that do not have the 5 bands indicated in order of preference will be processed last. We will of course do our utmost to allocate tickets from your preferred band. NOTE: YOUR TICKETS WILL BE VALID FOR ONE SPECIFIC DAY FROM YOUR CHOSEN BAND and are not transferrable. We regret that we cannot meet specific date requests from within selected bands.

STEP THREE: You MUST Include a self addressed envelope at least 15cm x 8cm with a 1st class stamp attached . Applications that do not include an SAE will not be processed.

STEP FOUR: You MUST write your 5 date band choices (in order of preference), on the bottom right hand corner of the envelope you send your application in (not your SAE).

STEP FIVE : Send your completed ticket application form, with NINE differently numbered tokens attached, together with your SAE to the address on the form. Allow 28 days to receive your tickets - although tickets for band A will be despatched as priority. Last date for receiving applications is Thursday March 24 and we cannot process applications received after that date. In the unlikely event that we are unable to allocate tickets for any of your five chosen preferences, we will contact you with an equivalent alternative.

Can you confirm it's for a specified day and not one of your choice for me?
#4
can anyone post more details of it, it will really be useful...... thanks
#5
that's all the details it had... will post more when I know more

It will probably be similar to the Thorpe Park tickets promotion they ran a few months ago. You had to collect about 5 tokens in separate newspapers, then choose from about 10 date bands, each containing a range of dates, they then allocated tickets to you within one of your chosen date bands, however you could not choose the exact date you go.

I got Thorpe Park tickets last time, but my friend who I was going to go with had flu on the day so I had to give the tickets away :(

Trouble is you prob get an allocated date so will be swarming with "Sun Readers"

In otherwise busier than usual and you have to put up with Chavs and general "Pond life" all day. Good place for a Jeremy Kyle "roadshow" I'd say lol.

It's a big place - pick your dates wisely and there are not many queues - you need to be a savvy date hunter for this deal.

I'd rather it was swarming with sun readers than snobs like yourself. If you're so classy why are you slumming it on a shopping website with your deals for Tesco value shower gel?

Anyone thinking of doing this for ebay - dont bother, It will be removed.

I don't agree...sold loads of sets of Thorpe park tickets a few months back. None were removed off eBay but value has dropped loads since last year as everyone doing the same thing. You need a separate postal address for each set too so can be bit trickier to sort out. You can always pick up a cheap set on eBay cos of this offer mind so is a good thing really.

I didn't realise there were so many upper class people scouring this site for 10p off a bag of potatoes
#22
Didnt have a problem selling these on Ebay last year. I'd advise you buy at least 10 copies and have them sent to other peoples houses:-)

Putting them on Ebay is exactly what you should do if you don't get allocated a date you want. That way you can put the money earned towards other tickets for the dates you really want - and help out others in the process. Works brilliantly. :)

If you buy a couple of porno mags you can hide the newspaper between them! ;)

Always save tokens for this offer, got 2 sets last year, if you don't get the date you require, sell tickets on Ebay and buy ones for the date you want to go. Works a treat.

Tried that last year - got a warning off ebay and told that the posting was removed after a complaint from alton towers. Ah well.

You need to make your listing different and not show your tickets - just show a picture of Alton Towers logo. - works a treat

no brainer question -

with a ticket which is unallocated

if it rains you simply go on
a) another day
b) when the weather is nice and
c) when it suits you!

personally i think its a real clever marketing ploy ny alton towers and the sun. you get the paper with the hope of getting the tickets

then
- you may be allocated tickets different to friends and family - hence you decide to not go
- it becomes a typical british summer and rains loads on the day allocated and you dont go
- other factors

put simply with an unallocated ticket one which you can use whenever the person has many and several oppurtunities to go
so lets say, 10,000 use whenever you want till Aug 2011 tickets are given out. this will allow people to go on at a number of given oppurtunities, bank holidays, days off work etc - percentage of tickets used will be high eg: 90%

giving an allocated ticket, with the possible factors listed above means tickets used will be say 30%

its a clever gimmick thats all

the allocated tickets deal gives little flexibility - it really is pants

Buying and reading The Sun has nothing to do with how much money you have or how much "Class" you have. It's more a sign of how stupid you are.

The Sun is basically a comic for adults, the only vaguely true stories are the sports pages. If you buy it regularly you are dumb. Sorry but that's just a fact.

I will be buying it for these tokens, I *might* have a peek at the 18 year old boobs on Page 3 while chuckling at the irony of the paedophile terror stories, but apart from that the rest of it is going straight in the bin.
