You must pay at least £1,750 a month into the account (or a minimum of £10,500 every six month), not including money transferred from other sole or joint personal accounts held with HSBC Bank.

So if you have money in other bank accounts, you can just move them round.

And there was me wrestling with what to do with that spare £10,500 loose change that I had jingle jangling around in my back pocket.
Still, heat added for swelling the bank accounts of those with oodles of pennies.

I would like to switch to HSBC and get this but as an existing mortgage customer I can only do this by phone or in branch. Applying for any financial product using either of those methods means losing several hours of your life.

Wont even accept me. But they can offer the normal current account with no switch bonus and 3% regular saver. Err... no.

I got a 'checking your details' message, did anyone else hear back after that?

Back as MSE deal. Read their report and you can apply through their link http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/banking/compare-best-bank-accounts#bonus;)

hello. has anyone been able to transfer money from other non-HSBC accounts to make the £1750 monthly pay in (if they do not earn £1750 per month)? Do HSBC check earnings when you apply and do they allow other money to be used to meet the monthly pay in? please help. thanks.

Can anyone help with my comment above please? If I can't get this one then will have to go for M&S £100 voucher & £10/mth or Nationwide 5% account. thanks.

You can transfer the £1750 in and out from where ever you like.

Can't imagine they would check your earnings, i put my true earnings and they turned me down for an account, so might have to be a bit creative if earning less.

The M&S app and online banking is awful mind if you use that a lot. Have to use a card reader every time you login.

ok. thanks. difficult to be creative with my earnings though as they clearly show on a bank statement as less than £1750/mth

Don't think it'll matter much, I've done plently switches and never been asked for anything when opening accounts.
#14
Yes but the switching process with HSBC has to be completed in branch for some reason. don't know why? I'm convinced (not 100% sure for definite) they will ask about earnings then.

http://www.moneywise.co.uk/news/2016-09-07/looking-to-switch-current-account-get-200-hsbc (seemingly the £1750 doesn't need to be from one payment i.e. wages)
