You don't need to justify VPower. It is expensive, but it will improve your mpg slightly, and it will clean out your engine a little bit. It burns slightly hotter and thus can get some of the crud out of your engine's innards. My car does not need the highest octane for its own sake but I find (with a lot of tracking using Fuelly.com) that 1 in 4 tankfuls maximises my MPG. Plus with a Shell card V-Power pays double points.

However. Lego toys. I've had enough of chasing these. You never get them from WHS when the Sun advertises them. "Oh, we've run out." At half past eight? Do we really think these are going to be any easier to get? I don't.

They will be a lot easier to get when you have to spend £30 in fuel to get them rather than some sheister buying 200 copies of the sun in WH Smith and running straight to ebay with them.

V-power diesel works very well on modern diesels. Such a clean burn, soot generation is minimal and so you get fewer DPF regens that cane your mpg.

Like the sound of this especially with my £20 free fuel from the shell/mega deals promotion a few months ago.

Smiths don't run out of Lego in the sticks, so merely poorly planned distribution.

BUT regardless good info & point on the petrol advantages weighed up, & heat for LEGO toys whilst helping out the car from all that abusive tesco petrol crud.

You don't need to justify VPower.

I think you can justify it your car requires or highly recommends 98 RON fuel.

Loving the F40, but this is a little premature isn't it?

When does this start? Thanks in advance!

Pity you HAVE to fill V Power, why can't you just fill unleaded! I wouldn't put V Power in my car because I heard it destroys low powered engines that are not really designed for high performance fuel.

Can't image where you heard that. It's wrong though, chatting to the chief fuel scientist at Shell, it can't damage engines in the way you suggest.

so if I use v power petrol on 1.4 astra thats 11 years old what would differnce would it make?

I use unleaded and car runs alot better than tesco fuel.
