o2 want £190 on the same priced tariff! seems a great price for 'early adopters' especially on a 12 month contract. will be interested to know what its like if anyone has one...

pretty sure it comes with a stereo bluetooth headset
voted hot ;-)
#2
Just worked it out.
#3
Unfortunately it doesn't come with Bluetooth stereo headset! :x

I've just been reading the various reviews of this phone on Google and it comes out very well.

There is a very comprehensive review here: http://www.mobile-review.com/review/sonyericsson-w960-en.shtml

Whilst mobile-review only give it a so-so rating they are widely criticised for being too pro-Nokia. Still, it's a good opportunity to get close up to the phone.

Considering it is selling on 'the bay' for well over £350 for new ones and for a 500minute cross network tariff I think this works out to be a very satisfactory deal. I'll never say good deal though as they don't exist in the UK, we get ripped off a good'un but that's a whole other story.

Thanks for posting this up.

Does it have a m2 or memory stick slot?

As I got loads of stuff on my current SE and wanna be able to swap between phones......

:)
#6
Don't think so, only seen the 8GB internal memory mentioned.

John
#7
yup..no memory slot due to the 8gb it has
You have to hook it to a pc to get your files transferred or a slower bluetooth transfer

Btw, vodafone could only offer me a 18 month contract to upgrade to this handset so might go for this instead
#8
This phone ticks all the boxes for me, I'll wait for my upgrade in July.
#9
am i being supid or something but I cant find this deal?
#10
Can someone explain how the Quidco cashback works? Do you get it as a lump or a bit back every month or do you have to wait till the end of your contract to get it back?
#11
Quidco cashback is given entirely at the start although it may take some time before you actually have the money in hand.

John
#12

#13

i went for this deal on sunday but did not know about the £90 cashback through quidco (though i did go through quidco)
i can confirm that the £90 quidco has been tracked and it says it will be paid by March 2008
my phone arrived yesterday (tuesday) with two boxes (the phone and the bluetooth headset)
i go back home on thursday so i have to wait till then to open it - cant wait!!
btw, imho this phone is amazin - i have been w8in months for its release
#14
wheres the deal? free phone?
#15
yep the phone is free
#16
got it. £27.50 includes quidco.
#17
it should be £35 a month plus £90 quidco. £27.50 a bit confusing
this phone is sexy .. too bad I just took a new contract 3 days back :(
#18
I don't know.

£330 a year and you get a new phone + a few minutes.

I pay £120 a year and get 1000 minutes/texts a month + £5 credit on what I like which for me is a far better deal. For the extra £210 I can pick up any phone I want but I still have extra minutes and texts! Oh and I'm not contracted.....

@ Winchy:

Please share :)
#20
Indeed - you can get sim only contracts for £10 to £15 a month from O2 or PAYG. Im on £15/month 200 anytime minutes and 1000 texts.

Not this phone you can't. Not unless it's well worn or well warm!
#22
Can someone tell me if the included 500 minutes are X Network?

Cheers
#23
I can't find this phone available yet on that site

Edit found it now...
#24
Also, is this deal not £23.12 per month

It looks like the deal is £17.50 for the first 3 months?

so 9 months at £35, 3 at £17.50 - £90 quidco

Or am I wrong?

yep, it reads that way to me too - was keeping it under my hat so everyone didn't rush at once

On further investigation

3 months at half price is only on 18 months

And its not nice to keep things to yourself. If the OP had done so you would be none the wiser of the deal.
#27
Can someone explain offer - I cannot see it on a 12 month contract

if you've found the phone, just click the "12 month" button to switch from 18 month...

Agreed... even on ebay its a good £300+ which would be £120 + £300+ = £420+

Also its £300 stretched out over the year and not in one huge lump!!

what network is that with?
#33
unlocking instructions?
banned#34
I think you can only unlock this phone via the network provider. Which would be vodafone.

Info from quidco:

Free texts for life - 6 Months Half Price Line Rental Code: vodablue1 Offer: Free Bluetooth headset with every contract phone purchased
#35
I cant believe it... I was looking at getting this phone yesterday with Vodafone lol Didn't think of Quidco with a phone provider though...

How on earth does the £90 discount work?

Ordered, thanks!
#36
is this a full touch screen or just the bottom 3 buttons like the k850i?

The screen is completely touchscreen and has three dedicated music buttons on the bottom.
