Only have 1 ethernet port on your internet router or home plug? Need more? Then get this...

So the 4 port Ethernet switch for same price is out of stock on play, but noticed this one with 8 ports (bit bigger I think though).

Have a home hub, long cable though to my room.

Plugged that cable into port one, my 3 computers and xbox in the the rest and THATS IT(after plugging in the power)

Super easy, cheap, well designed. Serves its purpose.

Dont get other switches, get this one! 8 pound you cant go wrong. I didnt.

Actually noticed kingosticks spotted it first...

Theres an 8-port for the same price with what appears to be a very similar spec (I only had a quick glance though). The dimensions also seem similar. Unless I'm missing something it seems a better deal. http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/12505605/GetNet-GS-118P-8-Port-10-100Mbps-Ethernet-Switch/Product.html

Thanks :)

I've added a price and a retailer name to your title, and an image and brief description to your post, we always try to include these when posting deals.

thanks! Repped

Yes it needs power, cant get ethernet switches that are passive I don't believe. But if get the ebuyer homeplug you save a socket, also can use these with extension leads and surge protected stuff. Cheaper set up than the albeit cool looking Solwise 6 plug adapters.

can the things you plug into this (xbox, pc, laptop etc) all connect at the same time? or is it just one at a time?

experience of using a similar one is that you can. i regulary use 3 devices at the same time. no different to using the 4 on the router ;)

Got one connected to the PS3 and 360, works a treat and saves me ripping my hair out on the slow wireless ps3!

great price and really neat bit of kit

Nice price !

Looks the part compared to most other ugly switches, I'm currently using two 5-Port Switches already.

Was after something like, so i can keep the router in the hall and then use this box to hook up the blu ray player in the main room still without using the other router that i have.
#9
Nice one, was after a switch before. At £8 it's a great price.

Hot!

i own one , had it for about a month. Nice and small , very light and kind of plastic which suprised me

but for £8 it is worth it, as i have 4 devices connected through it and they are on 100% of the time

no probs

Nice one! H&R...

Nice piece of kit, had one for a while. Paid more than this from a trade supplier!

Heat + Rep

Cheers

That looks great to me. Also, can anyone recommend a 16 port switch. I am guessing it may be cheapest just to use two of these albeit with double the power consumption and the need for two spare ports.
#17
Hi,
I was just looking for something like this, except I was only after one that had two or maybe 3 ports - don't need 8. I'm after something as small and cheap as possible. Does anyone know if there are any alternatives or am I better just getting this one?

thanks!
#18
this was much smaller than i expected (thats a good thing)
#19
Thanks OP, heat & rep added for a great deal, and ordered one even though I don't need it right now (which goes for many things I find on HUKD!)
Item seems to be out of stock in checkout though, but does not mention this on the order, so not sure if expired or not?

Anyone else's arrive in an in-proportionally huge box?

All that's left is to get some powerline adapters and ethernet cables and then I would no longer have to rely on a wireless connection.
