I had an email saying extra 1,500 points this weekend then added the1000points on here, (put some toothp[aste in basket to make up to £100 spend)check your emails, there was no code I just went through the link from email

Sounds good to me :)

Oh, and that 1500 points offer is on here, but it does it automatically anyway.
Seriously can't thank you enough for simply pointing this out for me, there's a 1000 points for spending a £100 on here too, so I added something else, so basically ended up with £30 in boots points :D Ooh, and £3.50 from Cashbackkings :D

I bought my daughter these from Boots last Christmas, used loads - loves them. Worth the money.

Tempting...very tempting......will have to try to think of a reason why I need these along with my cheaper pair.......hmm.

Hello, a good deal, can someone advise me on what to do. I don't have an advantage card, so would I be better registering for one on the site now (it says it can take 2 -3 weeks to come so will I still get the points?) or would I be better nipping down to my local boots, picking up an advantage card and then activating it instantly when I get home?

I bought my wife a pair of Braun Satinliners. A good cheaper alternative and only £32.47 delivered.

As a hairdresser - GHD's are just a con you can easily get a pair of straighteners from argos that'll last even longer then they do and cost £25 max. They have more features like temperature setting which is better for the hair, and some turn off when left on too long just like this type of GHD.
I have owned GHD's in the past and if you're accident prone like me and accidently tread on (when coming home from a night out) then at least you won't be so annoyed as you'd have spent £25 not £100...

...although I really love boots and it's advantage deals so this does work out as a good deal hence the vote hot but it bugs me how you're paying for a brand name!

I would definately go down to boots - the 1500 offer is only on for this weekend reguster your card stright away then visit boots.com the 1500 points are added as soon as you put something worth over £75 in your basket then you go to checkout and add in the promo box BLFT45 which gives you another 1000 points - totalling £25 off really making your GHD's £73 plus the points (the ordinary points entitlement) which is about 400 = £69
I did this twice yesterday someone else did it and also had cashback of £3.50 though a cashback site so their were even cheaper
You have to add some toothpaste or something I added pearl drops 3 for 2 to take it over the £100 mark
Good luck

Thanks for your reply and helpful info. With the points off, e.g. the £25.00 does this then appear on my account for me to use with other boots products, or can I spend it at other shops? I have never used boots before so excuse my ignorance! :-D

I have gone through many many straightners and was really sceptical, went to the US this August and bought their equivalent of GHD's and was delighted, but a friend brough hers with her and I kept telling her mine were just as good and I was very please - I paid $140 for them from J C Penney Hairdressers. THEN one night I tried the GHD's and now I understand, I am only sorry I was so sceptical - they are definately the best, I talked myself into others - every one on the market practically, as I have two grown up girls they have been through every one, they now have GHD's for christmas, if just to stop them pinching mine all the time. They are the best as much as I hate to have to admit I have been wrong over the years and you really do get what you pay for

Hey, you will only be able to spend it at boots sadly.
But the amount I'm in there, it's a fantastic deal :)

Thanks a lot OP  I decided to bite the bullet and have bought the GHD. Now have to figure what to do with my Nicky Clarke one and the points:?

Can I use my points to buy boots vouchers?? Any help would be greatly appreciated :)
#16
Which site is giving 3.5% Boots cash back? It's not Quidco...
#18
This is brilliant. Mine are coming on Thursday.
#19
What code do you put in to get them down to £68 ?

Its giving ma ll my points when i put in BLFT45 but not reducing the price , can you use your point to buy on line , if so , how'?

thanks

The price of the GHD's are 98 but a poster was saying these are effectively 68 because they received thirty pounds of points too.

You can't use your points online. They will be implementing this in the future but I doubt it will be any time soon.

Once you have made an order you need to wait up to 21 days afterwards then find a store with a Boots Advantage point machine. Insert your card and the points will be added from your online shop. They points do not automatically go on - So don't forget!

You can't use your points to buy gift vouchers.

You can't use money off vouchers etc when paying with points.

You can't use points to part-pay for something. You must have enough points to cover the cost of the whole item.

A good thing to do is use your points on things you would buy anyway such as medicines, prescriptions, nappies, wipes etc.

Thanks Speculator.

Michellery, the BLFT45 code doesn't reduce the price in real terms, it gives you 1000 points, which is equivalent of £10 to spend on your advantage card.
#22
Also, you can use your points to pay for formula milk stage 3 and above only.
#23
Speculator am I missing something? According to Cashbackkings they're not only giving 3.5% cash back, but also 600 advantage points as well. http://www.cashbackkings.com/boots/bargains/b62545
So buying these GHDs for £98 and some toothpaste to £100 you get:

1500 points for spending over £75.
1000 points for spending over £100.
400 points for the usual £100 spend.
600 points from Cashbackkings.
And £3.50 cash back.

This would mean you get them for the equivalent of £61.50.

Hi, thanks for this, my daughters' have been nagging me for GHD's for ages!
One thing though, I put in the code BLFT45, and it came up 1000 points for £100 spend, but then after I had finished checkout, it said I had 1900 advantage points. Shouldn't it have been 2900, or have I got my sums wrong? (has been known!!)
Voted hot!
#25
I think the 600points refers to an earlier boots promo where you get 600points for a £60 spend. This has now expired and been replaced by the 1500 points promo.
#26
My advantage points total is 1900 and then its says:
Your "1000 points when you spend £100 or more on Boots.com" promotion total but it is blank next to where the new point total should be

I'm assuming my total number of points is 2900 bringing my GHD's down to £69 are there any other codes/promotions that can be used on this?

It should be 2900 points, 1000 points for spending over £100 and 1500 points for spending over £75 and the 400 normal points.
#28
Oh I see. :)
Well £67.50 is still great considering I was going to pay £95 for these things a couple of weeks ago. Glad I waited.

No, you can only use one code at a time. It's a shame the 10% off voucher expired last Sunday.
#30
its said that my promo code '1000 points on a £100 spend' has gone through yet it hasn't updated the points total on my screen and shows 1900 point made in this transaction. Is anybody else experiencing the same?
#31
Try adding something to your basket and removing it. I had similar problems so I added some nappy bags for 49p and removed it and my points showed up.
#32
I'm getting this too. In the checkout it's only saying 1900 points. Maybe it only shows the points from the items in the top bar and they will be added anyway?
#33
Not sure if this will work but I found this code on another site.
1000 points on £100 spend CDAK38

You could try this code instead.
#34
Tried removing items and adding again, still getting the same thing show up. Only 1900 points is shown on the total points even though it has acknowledged the 1000 points on £100 promotion.
#35
It won't even accept my instant card number. I don't have a permanent advantage card yet.
#36
It should accept it according to their website.

Getting an Advantage Card
If you haven't yet applied for a permanent Boots Advantage Card, but do have an instant (paper) Advantage Card, you'll still be able to shop online and collect points- just enter your instant card number. If you don't have an instant card, you can get one by clicking here. However, you will not be able to spend any of your points in store until you've got your permanent Advantage Card, so click here to apply. We'll then automatically transfer the points you have earned onto your new plastic card so that you can continue to shop online and collect points.
#37
Just spoke to someone at Boots and they said that the points should have gone through as 2900 but if it hasn't then it wouldn't be a problem to add the points on at a later date, especailly as the promtion has been acknowleged in the order.
#38
It kept saying my number was invalid Speculator. I applied for a new one on the Boots website and in my account info the instant number is the same format as the one I was typing in the box. So I must have been given a faulty instant card instore last week. So I may end up with two advantage cards now. Hopefully that's not against their rules. I guess I could explain to them.
#39
Just tried to add two to my basket and this message come up. Probably low on stock.

This product is limited to a maximum number per customer. The quantity has been reduced accordingly.

Shouldn't be a problem.
Just phone them up and cancel the faulty card.
