First post as I'm clueless when it comes to these things and I need the help of you guys (well, probably girls!) to get my girlfriend a xmas pressie!

I've heard of GHD before, which being a typical bloke must mean they're good!

My question is, are these particular straighteners really that much better than, say, the best I could find for £40-50? Which was my initial budget. In other words, will I score many brownie points if I buy her these?!!!

Advice appreciated!
#3
yes yes yes ghds are the best ones!! honestly, she will love you for getting them. But if you cant stretch that far the babylis pro230 are meant to be good! Good luck

The limited edition purple ones are in stock too - apparently they will soon be very hard to find. RRP £155 (and I had to pay that!)

With the voucher they'd be £140 delivered.

I know it's £50 for a different colour but my lass is posh lol

Thanks for the advice. Funny enough, someone has just listed those babylis pro230 you mention for £20.10 from tesco. So do I use up most of my £100 budget on the GHD's or buy the pro230's and have lots left over to buy other goodies???!!!

Decisions decisions.....

i've heard the Babyliss ones are good too, never tried them though as i have GHD's the ones above.

You know your g/friend best toffeeman, has she mentioned straighteners before, does she have any already, has she specifically mentioned GHD's ?

I have the pro230s and they are really good, far outdoing any i'd had before, however my hairdresser always uses GHDs and a part of me still wants some but i've not gone for them as they cos a lot and i paid a lot more than £20 for mine.

In your case I would prob get the pro230s, unless you fancy asking her as she may like being asked - then you can surprise her on the rest of the presents but some people get funny about their straightners!!

My Partner's GHDs recently broke down (smoke coming from them!) after 3 years great service. We decided to give the Babyliss Pro Radiance a try which are in the similar price range of GHDs.

The marketing of these from Babyliss claim they outperformed all straighteners including GHDs. We checked reviews online and found a lot of people saying they were better than GHDs so decided to go for them. We bought them from Argos which online said £99 but were actually £80.

After using them my partner's verdict is they are a slight improvement over the GHDs, which considering they're cheaper makes the Babyliss Pro Radiance the better purchase.

Just remember there are a few version of the Babyliss Pro range with prices from the low end up to the Radiance range. The ceapest I've seen the Radiance online is Amazon for £80.

Argh, I can't decide whether to go for these or the minis. I'm a bloke but have medium length hair (say around 5cm to 7cm) and had the Mark IIIs for a couple of years until they broke. They were brilliant but I wonder if the minis would be better for me or not?

Help!

Oh and the minis are actually £5 cheaper as well.
#21
Yesss! thanks for this! ordered - cant wait!!!! been waiting ages for these to come down a bit

Promotional code doesn't seem to be working? :?

Edit: nevermind there out of stock anyway.

If your GHD's break you don't have to buy new ones... there are a couple of common problems that are easy to fix (such as the cable failing). Just have a quick look on google for "ghd repair" and you'll find loads of info.
