I have been looking to get these straighteners for my GF for her birthday and upon searching found a 20% discount off everything at BeautyBay. The voucher brings the price down to £77.59 with UK 2nd Class Delivery (Free), or if you want it sooner:
(£3.50 for UK 1st Class Recorded)
(£7.95 Next Day Delivery)

I thought it was a great price so was a bit suspicious, so i checked BeautyBay out here: http://www.ghdhair.com/uk/beware-imitations/url-verification/

CODE: GLAMOUR

''ghd IV Styler is ghd's most advanced heat styler yet. This is all you'll ever need to create perfect curls, movement, volume and straightness, thanks to its advanced technology and smart features.

It has a rounder barrel, making it so easy to create waves curls and flicks, that you'll never need to have the same look twice!

If left unattended for 30 minutes it will go into sleep mode and automatically switch off. In addition with a new 'shiver' function, if the room temperature drops to less than 5°C, the IV Styler will automatically shut itself down to prevent internal condensation, and will work again when the temperature increases again. These new stylers also have a universal voltage so that you can use them wherever you travel to.

If this wasn't enough reason to buy the new IV Styler, it also has improved temperature control for better styling, and advanced ceramic and aluminium plates for the smoothest, static free shine.''

Good Price for the best straighteners!
#2
Nice orded some for the Mrs:).

It's worth bearing in mind that GHD were prosecuted for selling unsafe product a while ago.

It's worth checking that these aren't NOS ("New Old Stock") from the affected batches when you receive them..

ghd do not require proof of purchase, for any problems simply register the product on the website when you receive it.

Any idea when this deal might expire?

It's hot...but I want to know whether to order the pink or black :( with her being fussy...I'll likely order the wrong one :(

P.S How do I make it hotter in here? :)
#11
what's the difference between this and a £6 one? babyliss for example
#12
You will get your order cancelled, tried this last week before it was posted up here and the just cancelled the order (twice haha) and ended up emailing me a copy of the magazine article saying that it is not redeemable against electricals.

When I rang up beautybay, they said that it was because they didn't have that much profit margin with these products.

just looked at the specs... looks like you are getting a bit more than just a name!

If you're looking for cheaper ones, I've seen a lot of people saying the babyliss pro 230 straighteners are ok, I've seen them for about £34 on amazon.

This is true, I also had my order cancelled as I used the GLAMOUR code. The code is not valid on electrical items.
I ordered last weekend, and my order was cancelled on Monday. I received an email from Beautybay explaining why.
Beautybay prices are still good, but it would probably be better to post the price minus the code.

Did you receive an order confirmation email the day bought it?

Yep, had email and order number... just seemed a normal order, and went onto awaiting stock, and then to cancelled.

No notification on first cancellation, but an email with the magazine info on the second one.

It probably won't get cancelled 'til Monday with orders placed now though.

I bought the first set of GHDs in 2003. They are still going strong.

Whats so good about them? How are they unique?

My GF has the purple model. They are awesome (her words not mine).

BUT.... How can folks on here vote something 333 degrees +, when the offer isnt even valid and no one has successfully got them at the price stated. Once again folks voting on here based on a headline!!

Worst £100 I ever spent! My £20 boots straighteners I bought 6years ago are still working as good as these and the babylis 230 seem a lot better. When I first got them 2 years ago I expected to notice a big difference but there was none at all and after three months a hole appeared on the ceramic COATED plate. They're only expensive because they were the first company to bring out 220c straighteners but they continued selling at the same price even when better straighteners came out. People will never admit that they aren't the best though, and people like me end up buying due to the fake hype about them. Don't waste your money, if they didn't have ghd on them they'd be worth £15 do your research!

I don't understand why you're adding heat if you don't know if they're going to honour it; surely the sensible thing to do would be to wait and see and only rate the deal when they cancel it, which they will.:)

Me too, I got the salon styler with wide plates, nearly 6 years later they are still as effective as the day I bought them! I've dropped them a couple of times and use them every week and they are still in tip-top condition.
I did find when I took them to Jamaica they didn't heat up properly there, due to the voltage difference, but the newer ones are compatible with multi voltages so will work perfectly all over the world.

Visit www.compareghd.com as they compare prices of GHDs from authorised stockists and list them. They don't sell GHDs so are impartial and the site is updated daily.
I used them to search for the best price for the purple gift set.

Same email I got as well!

TO ANYONE READING THIS THREAD AND THINKING IT IS A HOT DEAL - YOU CANNOT GET THE 20% DISCOUNT AT BEAUTYBAY USING THE 'GLAMOUR' CODE!!

Here's why:

The website will allow you to place an order using 20% off code and will automatically generate an order confirmation email. The orders are then processed by 'real people' who will cancel your order.

Well I did tell you all on the first page, but you voted it hot anyway... I don't see how any of you can be so surprised that they were cancelled when you'd been told from 2 people who knew it would be cancelled as it had happened to them.

Surely there is no hope that you will get it if you've been told that the order will be cancelled as it has already happened to people, thus voting it hot KNOWING it's going to be cancelled means that you're not doing that?

I think a deal is a deal if it works, I think a deal is a deal if there's a chance it *could* work... ie that nobody has reported back that it's not going to work due to having tried and failed themselves but I don't think it's a hot deal if they have done so, which they had in this thread.

It matters not a jot in the grand scheme of things in terms of what it does for the original poster of the deal, but does succeed in disappointing a lot of people who may not have read the comments but think that because it is voted so hot, that it has been proven to work

I know how the voting works, I only signed up recently to say about this deal as I thought people should know beforehand so they're not disappointed... I have been using hotukdeals for years without signing up though. :)

I only signed up recently

Exactly why people will take a chance. It's because anyone could sign up and say it don't work and we are all left to vote cold and we don't even try [when let's say it did work]. If you had more rep you might of been taken with a bit more salt. I orded mine before I knew btw. No one can advise members how to vote even if they think they are voting the wrong way. It is a feature we all have and can use how we want realy. As I said before points do not make prizes. But after saying that Thank you for letting us know in the first place at least we are not suprized now:).
