Not sure about the link, cannot make it work!!

ANyway, we usually show the price less any discount codes, so I have updated the price in the OP. Quidco etc is not usually shown in the price, as this is not used by everyone

An excellent deal?

I would appreciate it if someone could explain why GHD straighteners are so expensive? Are they like the 24 carat gold of straighteners?

I do use straighteners, and am considering getting new ones, so any input on what makes them warrant this price would help in my desicion to purchase.

Thanks in advance. :)

tbh they are the best straightners ( im a boy btw) all the other ones couldnt tackle my hair and my hair is near enough straight any way just neededs some hold when spiking it up.

plus they last for ever ! and the customer service / warrenty on them are really good !

I would absolutely agree. They might be more pricey than other brands but in my opinion no other straighteners are as good as GHDs. They will last for a long time and will give you the best results. Well worth the extra money.
#8
Best purchase ever grumpiness... had mine for about 2 years now, they're excellent.
#9
They definatly are worth the money. Everyone is sceptical about paying that much for a pair of straighteners, then they use them and want them!

I have just been away with uni and I let several people borrow my GHD's while we were there, I think I converted about 4 people!

They straighten your hair so much quicker than other straighteners, and the striaghtness lasts really well. Would not be without mine.

got the missus some of these a while back - she had her last set for 5 years and they are by far the best. Id invest in some of these instead of having to buy 2 or 3 pairs of cheap ones :)
#11
HQhair have them for £94.50, with £10 off code GHDMk4 its £84.50.

Also Quidco at 6% with HQhair.

Also free heat wrap worth £12.50 and free special delivery upgrade (but is £2.50).

if you are buying from boots and spend over £50 and pay with paypal for the first time you save an extra £5 too.
#13
excellent post, and yes they are the best!

#14
All good then. Thanks for your honest opinions.

I'm sold :)

Hair Tools FHI are supposed to be good and heat up more than GHD you can pick them up for about £60
#16
they are that good there are always plenty of faulty ones on ebay if you need spares.

My missus has the mk4 and she finds them rubbish compared to the 3.1b ghd.
If you search ebay you will see second hand 3.1b's go for more than the mk4 which says it all.

Also picked up a faulty pair today from the booty and fixed them using a lead off another faulty pair I had, they are 3.1b gave them to the missus and she said they are far better than the others she has.

The GHD tend to have faulty mains leads and also the wire comes off the irons. The Mk4 doesnt seem to have this problem yet.

these are great straighteners... but im not sure the price is that great is it? I could have swore I bought my other halv's for less than that around a year ago (about £75 + p and p)
#18
The price is good with all the money you save with points etc.

I've had my pair for about 3 years now and have never had a problem with them. I guess with all electrical things you are going to get ones which go wrong. My friend had a pair which stopped working after a short time, but they replaced them straight away.

Anyone know where you can get the pink ones for a decent price? Want to get some for the mrs for her birthday... Hope she's not reading this!

Do you mean you were waiting in for delivery so you could sign for the item, or have I totally misunderstood you there?

Are these GHD's really the pinnacle of design for hair straighteners?

I am buying hair straighteners as a gift for someone and am unsure if these are the ones to get.

The only alternative I could find is the 'Babyliss Pro 230 Elegance Straightener'

http://www.marieclaire.co.uk/beauty/Babyliss_Pro_230_Elegance_Straightener_article_127659.html

The Babyliss can be found for under £50. Are GHD's therefore worth the further spend?

Thanks,

these ghd staightners are the best ever i have tried 3 cheaper ones tony and guy braun babilyliss these do your hair next to no time as i have thick hair it is essential to have good staightners my friend tried them on holiday last month and she got a pair as soon as she got home. also sometimes you can go a few days without doing your hair again depends on your hair type.
my friend got pink ones. please remember to use a protection spray with your straighners this helps your condition f your hair.
