I need some help filling in the gaps on this one. I'm thinking this is the complete 1st & 2nd gigs together with the solid state society movies. I'm no expert on anime so anything you can add to this would be helpful. I'm guessing at a misprice as the next nearest seems to be around the £70 mark.

well, considering Gits sac 1st gig was £20 the other day from Virgin and was voted hot, this must be scorching :)
Nice find, I might even order this for myself :)

Was going to order, but I like things prompt and the 1-4 week wait put me off, but absolute bargain for anyone who doesn't mind waiting!
#3
Wow, if it is the complete Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex that is a huge bargain, very hot.

I searched but can't find any more details on any of the other retailers sites, the only thing I found was this

http://culturecatch.com/film/ghost_in_the_shell

and I'm not sure if it relates to this set

Bookie - Surely you've been here long enough to know better than post a blatantly affiliated link?

Think it came by mistake from find-dvd.co.uk :)

Tune Up :- Pls take ur grievance to Misc forum so that we can discuss. This thread should not be spoiled. Thanks :)
#10
Good deal if it is right - that's a HUGE saving ... I can't help but think 8800 cards again ... typo on the site? Missing a digit?
#11
amazon.de have the same boxset for 157 Euros (£109)
#12
I'm just posting to apologize for accusing Bookie of stealing and lying - I didn't realize this is on the 2nd page of the best deals on Find-DVD. It just seemed to be too much of a coincidence that this would pop up on here 19 minutes after I posted it when I knew the TC had the link to where I posted it.

Anyway, onto the deal itself...

This should contain all 52 episodes going on the huge RRP. There's NO information about this on the net, searching for 'MANG7001' on Google not revealing anything. The only option if we want info is to email Manga Entertainment about it.

Btw, I hope you guys are only going to order 1 each (instead of 10-100 of each!) and avoid ruining this for everyone else. We all known Amazon love cancelling misprices!
#13
No problem - thanks for the apology.
#14
That's two Christmas presents well and truly sorted. I would have got one for myself but having seen the two films feel that the experience of the entire boxed set would be slightly wasted on me.

Voted Hot.
#15
Voted hot, and ordered! :) Hopefully, it is the entire first and second gig + movies, and Amazon honours the price. :)
#16
Ordered and voted hot, fingers crossed, uber bargain if this is the full set!
#17
I accidently clicked expired - can a mod undo my foolish mistake? Apologies to everyone - hot deal!

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!
you had me REALLY worried for a min, thought I was not going to get it, as Amazon had started to cancel orders, few, I can rest easy for a little longer :)

This has gone from 9000 (when I saw it originally) in the Amazon DVD sales charts to 124.

I get the feeling someone has been greedy. Why people can't just order 1 and leave it is beyond me, it's obvious that with people ordering more than 1 of the same item at a time it looks suspect, and some sites must have 'alarms' that go off when someone orders something like 10 of one item at once.

This would've been better left on smaller forums. It's already at 124 in the sales rank, so it'll probably be in the top 10 tomorrow, alerting Amazon way before any are even available to send.

This I am WAY not happy about, I want to watch all of these, but really cant be bothered to download them all, plus I dont have the HDD space and the box set would have been very nice, oh well.....looks like I'll be getting a cancelation notice from Amazon in the morning then :(

This is why I didn't post it on here when I spotted it; it only takes one to ruin it. Instead, I posted it on some of the smaller bargain sites. While there are a few people who only order 1 and aren't buying it to eBay, there are just too many idiotic people on HUKD.

I was angry originally not just because of possible stolen credit but also angry since I knew this would be cancelled the minute it was posted on here.
#22
Yep, I just took a trip to check Amazons T's and C's......
Amazon T's&C's
If a product's correct price is higher than our stated price, we will, at our discretion, either contact you for instructions before dispatch or cancel your order and notify you of such cancellation.

Looks like the greed has ruined another good offer, Thanks, you know who you are!!

Well, with that mindset, there would be NO deals on this site, would there? Either way, I don't think there are a huge number of mis-pricings that go through all the way.
#24
There's a difference between normal deals and misprices, the main being that idiots show their true colours with misprices and order lots together. Misprices should either be kept off here or kept in a restricted access section.

And, if you're talking about your HUKD misprice experience(s), there's a very good reason nearly all misprices on HUKD don't work out...

Edit: It's at 55 in the sales chart now. Go greed!!

You know how I feel about situations like this - I mentioned it to you the other day. That said sometimes they do work out. The problem with this particular one is that it's in your area of interest and something you are quite passionate about and that's something to hold on to.
#26
If you think something will be abused, how can you set restricted access? Maybe members only and you must sign-up rather than seeing from the public?

I've seen good deals before. Best bet is to order, see if it works THEN post it when you have got yours in your hand, eh?

I see it all the time - people get way too excited and get ahead of themselves. Greed indeed. But think first, brag later :)

Bookie: You know there's a much higher chance of a misprice going through if the item only has a reasonable amount ordered.

As far as I see it, there's only 3 ways for a misprice to be discovered:

A)
Someone working for the store sees it and tells the higher ups.
B) Due to the number of orders, both in terms of the total ordered and large orders made by individuals, the store are alerted to the misprice.
C) Someone working for the store visits the largest deal websites on the net and then alerts the higher ups.

B and C would've been pretty much avoided if it hadn't been posted on here.

Only allowing registered members to see deals is one way - The lazy 'leechers' wouldn't bother signing up. The other is setting up a section where, for example, only people with 1000+ posts could enter and getting the mods to move all misprice threads to that forum.

1000+ posts? A bit harsh. You're best off not sharing it at all really. You take a chance, you might get it, you might not. Better than not trying. Rip-off Britain doesn't need more people to be greedy - if you genuinely want the item, I'm sure you'll get it anyway.

That's the risk of this site - you know that people will abuse it. Hence why I said you are wiser to see if the product arrives before shouting to the high-heavens about it ;)
#29
people who order more than they need should have their orders cancelled, those who order one receive theirs. If theres going to be all these restrictions eg 1000+ posts there would be no HUKD. Be happy if you get it, if not, thats life, deal with it.

It would take someone ages to get to that many posts, unless they post meaningless drivel to pad out their number of posts. Even if a select few were shown misprices, then there would still be a sudden increase in sales and the sites would be alerted.
#32
1000+ posts was just an example off the top of my head - 500 would be a more fair number. But, if you think about it, making a restricted access forum like that for misprices would make the elite members feel valued and give people more incentive to post, making it a win-win situation with the large of number of guests/none posters who order 10 at a time when it comes to things like this.

I really wanted this, it's not everyday you see anime cheap when it's over-priced in rip-off Britain. It's very aggravating for people who don't care about it to ruin it for the few people who would be over the moon to get it for this price.
#33
I fully agree with Tune Up, good anime at cheap prices is harder to find than Britney's dignity, considering that ANY anime normally does not even make the front page (as some one commented the last time Gits was on front page "what is this doing on the front page?" it is a shame that when a real good deal comes along people who just want to make a quick profit from it ruin the deal for everyone.
I know we have NOT been told by Amazon that this HAS been cancelled yet, but i would definetly put some money on this happening, and I am sure many bookies would'nt give you great odds on it not happening.
bit of a rant, but this is very annoying, I have been looking forward to getting these DVD's at some point for a while and now it looks like I will have to pay £100+ more than I could have got them for.

Mike..

Amazon may have cancelled the orders anyway regardless of number of people who ordered. Its probably just another misprice cockup that they dont need to honour. Plus If it wasnt posted here it would have prob been on rpoints or mse. You win some you lose some. People arent any less annoyed when it happens to things they might want, just because its manga doesent make it any more special than other offers/misprices - To start assuming you arent going to get it is missing the point - if ANYONE gets it they will be lucky, regardless of number of people who order. You really think that if only 10-30 people order then it will be honoured? Cloud cuckoo land. If people want to whinge and moan take your grievances to the mods, wont make any diff here
banned#35
It is also showing as £21.97 on kelkoo and ciao. So anyone using a shopbot to search for the cheapest price would have seen it and ordered it.
#36
ordered this but ....

on the us amazon site it states 7 dvds ... surely should be 14 +
is it possible that this is only series 1 and that the £120+ original price is what is wrong ....
hopefully thats not the case ?
#37
it's not expired yet ?

No, but it may as well have been.
Have just ordered some other anime from somewhere else, just to make up for the loss of this :)

Mike..
#39
I placed an order, but I can't see it being the complete series.

Like zoopakev said, it should have more discs. First gig is seven discs alone...

Think I might cancel order.
#40
From the onset, it looks like this is only the 2nd GIG, based entierly however on the front pic!
