VPN Access for $35 / £20.78 from Ghost Path

22
Ghost Path is a new-ish vpn service that I've been using for a while, primarily for public wifi protection. I haven't used it for Netflix or Hulu-type services, but I'm sure it would fare just fine.

thank you very much for the detailed information.

this vpn would it work across devices once set up? e.g. tablet, mobile phone, laptop
is this an annual fee?

Ghostpath don't appear to restrict the number of devices used, and they seem to provide details for configuring on Android and iOS. Because they can use OpenVPN, it does mean you can avoid installing software on most devices. I've used Ghostpath in the past and found it to be pretty good.

Things to bear in mind, and this applies to other VPNs

1) Performance of your internet connection will slow, no matter who provides it, the performance will suffer, additional work is being done on the connection which will impact performance, on my 150+meg broadband it's not really noticeable.

2) Connecting to different servers will have different effects on performance, for Ghostpath, the closest hosts were not the fastest for me, I ended up doing a speed test and found London and some Dutch sites gave the best ping/download performance.

What speeds do you average through Ghostpass on your 150+Mb connection?

On 100Mb fibre, Ive tried a few VPN and I was lucky to get 10Mb+. Perhaps I'm choosing badly.

Unfortunately I uninstalled it recently - I was getting it free as part of another subscription, couldn't justify the cost until now, so can't view the actual figures, but from memory I was getting around 90-120, instead of the rock solid 152 I achieve normally - as I said earlier, I couldn't notice it except when using newsgroup downloading where it's possible to maximise the download speed. This was after carefully fixing the connection to use the most efficient. I didn't notice any fluctuations, but my use is sporadic, so couldn't say for certain.

VPN Accounts for $35/year from Ghost Path £21.00

Ghost Path is a solid VPN provider that I've been using. Monthly account are $10, so this $35 deal is definitely a good price. They do log IP addresses for 2 days (non-US locations), so if that's

Just out of interest will this slow down my broadband with newsboard downloads?

I am guessing that the benefits of this is that you can choose your country and so can access all region restricted content? Will it allow me to choose UK to look at BBC stuff like i-player etc?

Thanks in advance.

I use a SecurityKISS free account, no registration and 300MB a day free. They have several UK servers, and German, French, USA. If you need more speed, they have pay accounts with access to lots more (lightly loaded) servers. Yes, access to region restricted content is one advantage, but your traffic is also very secure, encrypted and anonymised.

Cheers for that LongPockets. I will have to do a months trial first and see how much I download. 300Mb a day could be a bit on the low side! Once you have used that up could you switch off the VPN?

You can connect, disconnect, and pause the connection whenever you like, and swap between servers any time. It shows a running graph of your usage.
ot you just use Zen mate with chrome, or if you want a separate vpn try superfreevpn.com

both are free and should shizzle ya nizzle 8)
