Cheap ? Er...no. No, it's not.
Decent bike maybe.

Okay, so maybe it's not 'cheap' as in sub £100 cheap, but a saving of £170 seems a fairly good deal to me.

Anyway, i've just ordered one, and i'm happy, so thought i'd bring it to the attention of others that may be looking for a new Hybrid bike :)

Tempting but I need to get rid of my current piece of rubbish Rebook bike first. Shame it hasnt got any suspension to tackle the potholes in Sheffield

Cheap junk is exactly that - junk

This, on the other hand, is a decent saving vs RRP for a very good bike.

I have to say this is very good spec for the price. If you are a rider who clocks alot of miles you want good componentry and this seems to have that. This bike ven has hydraulic disc brakes and it's made by a company with an excellent reputation for bikes.

isnt much for a bike nowadays....paid £250ish for my raleigh almost 14 years ago still going strong and in near mint cond....gets used i guess max 20 times a year now (usually approx 1 to 4 miles per time, lol)....if i bouht another bike id buy a decentish one like this....couldnt justify more unless i use it alot more

alas whilst raleigh bikes were acceptable quality 14 years ago, no they are cheap carp and would be lucky to last 14 months

Just clicked on the deal and got nowhere.

Giant are generally good bikes but it would be useful to know a little more about this one. Number & type gears, type of shocks, brakes etc. Likewise size or size range is material to the case.

Also whether it's part of this year's range or a left over from last year will govern how good a deal this is.

Er, yes it is. £380 is very much the bottom end of the market in cycles.

The seek 3 is actually a better bike than the seek 4 (hydraulic vs mechanical brakes, better components).. the bizarre world of bike model numbering!

For the average Joe, £380 is not cheap for a bike considering you could get one for sub 100quid at a supermarket or sports shop.

It is, however, at the cheap end of anything remotely decent - I'm voting hot.
Not sure I'd go for this one personally though

only small and XL in stock.
Is XL right size for 6 foot height?

Is XL right size for 6 foot height?

Been down my local Giant store (well it's fairly large..(_;) ) and I'm just under 6ft myself and after sitting on a few bikes they recommended a large frame. Apparently the XL suits more like 6'2" or over.
#19
@ smithy - I'm about 6'6 and the XL frame is percect for me after adusting the seat a little higher, so you should be fine if you maybe lower the seat a tad.

P.S I love this bike, very, very happy with it!

I'd say a 'decent' budget bike. I had my bike stolen about 3 years ago (about £2,000 worth) when I had my house burgled.I never did get a new one but If I had the money I would get this especialy with this nice weather now arriving :) I would much prefer to be out in the fresh air than stuck in front of my XBox over Easter. Looking at the components as well it's not a 'Garden Gate' so it's probably relatively light.

I love this forum when someone posts a bike related deal. You get the usual 'It's expensive' when people really are comparing something with 2 wheels you get from the supermarket which weighs more than a car to something that you can actually ride for more than 5 miles without professional levels of fitness. This is a really good entry level decent bike - yes, it's not 'cheap' but it will last and will work for more than 2 weeks.

I clicked on the Go To Deal button and just got stuck on load mode without anything appearing.

Many thanks to whoever loaded the details but sorry to say the deal doesn't look that hot. Staying neutral.

Having fun bumping all of the bike thread.....?

Anyway, depends what you need to bike for? commuting? ect

Thank you for the advice.
The bike arrived, well set up and it really is impressive for the money.
XL is big but I can just about manage the wieldy beast.
I see what you mean about the quality, it feels built to last!
Can anyone recommend a good front light, preferable LED type as I live in darkest Devon and as well as being exhaustingly hilly single track roads; they are very dark at night.
#27
good bike, heat added!
#28
heat added, decent bike for the money, for any one looking for a 16"bike this one is 499 but is a lot of bike for the money
