It's DDR2 so keep that in mind. But would seems to be a good part for a small media build.
#4
Does it support ACC?
#6
Not bad

oops i missed that bit!
thanks! ordered one via PC world.

Was tempted for a htpc but the onboard graphics does not support blu ray hardware decode.
#13
Saw this in PCW today. Good price, especially compared to all of the other overpriced tat that surrounded it on the shelves. An unbranded 1000W PSU for example, for £99.
#14
So are you saying that this was instore too? Then you could use the £5 vouchers they are giving away. My HP machine died recently and am 100% sure its the motherboard so this is a good cheap fix, thanks.
#15
This board will not do blu-ray hardware decoding... I would avoid if you're planning a HTPC type thing.

Otherwise a good price.
#16
If you want blu ray surely you can just stick in a Radeon 5450? They're cheap as chips.
#19
Will these fit into any PC case? I have a small tower a HP 6712

it should do.. (you need a case that'll fit mATX) are you planning on swapping out all components

One available in Romford store. I was very tempted to use voucher and get it for £25...I just don't need one.

What revision was the motherboard - it is written on a sticker on the side - the latest is 4.3 I think.
#23

This is the earlier revision motherboard with 6 SATA ports - the later revisions only have 4.

hi guys

as cigbunt hinted at just cos the motherboard may fit, does not mean that everything else in your old pc will go with the board, e.g. cpu,memory......

this is the spec of the hp6712

Doesn't that defeat the object? You could get a 790GX based board (which does hardware decoding) for cheaper than this board + a 5450.

i just went in to my local store and paid £24.97.. pleased with my purchase.

Thanks. Found one in my local, but they didn't let me use a voucher with it, stating it was already cheap enough, or some crap like that. Only has two mem slots, and I'd like 4, so skipped it anyway.

Romford store if anyone wants it.
