Great price, I thought 287 from Ebuyer was the lowest so I bought it from there yesterday, bah. Not sure if I can be bothered returning for the difference though. Great price for the best 970.

Same deal for 249.9 few days ago. But still good price

That was the plain old Gigabyte 970. Not the G1 gaming posted here. This one is quicker and has better cooling.

The G1 also has a backplate and the chips themselves are cherry picked

Got mine from Scan for £285 inc with a free pair of headphones yesterday, looks like they're costing me 5 quid now. X)

I wonder where they got those 3DMark scores from, every review I've seen with 3DMark 11 included puts this card at ~14,000.

Nabbed mine for £240 from Overclockers during Black Friday deals. It's superb, back plate looks gorgeous and it clocks to 1480MHz with only +30 voltage. Never goes above 60 degrees and plays Far Cry 4 maxed at 1440p

Looks fine to me, besides, since when do you watch the cooler when playing games? Surely you want an effective cooler over a pretty looking cooler? ;)

Haha it's funny you say that, I've spent quite a bit of time watching this cooler when playing. The Windforce LED on the side can be configured to respond to GPU temperature, load, sound output, voltage etc and gets brighter or dimmer depending on these.

Always quite interesting to look down at it while stress testing and watch its brightness vary according to load :D

Watching it while stress testing is one thing, watching it while engaged in a firefight would get you killed. X)

How did you get yours for £240 on Black Friday? They were listed at Overclockers for £284.99 that day... :|

Hahaha, very true.

I was sat on there refreshing it and noticed a 'Grade B', so I rang them up and insisted the chap go and check what was wrong with it. He checked with their stock manager and it was a completely unopened, sealed, retail unit.

Only reason it was Grade B was that someone had purchased it and simply returned it a day later. They couldn't explain it but said that legally it was then 'Grade B'.

Think I got lucky, no coil whine, no artifacts, clocks to 1480MHz easily! Only thing was, I didn't get the game voucher, but I already have FC4 and don't particularly want Unity :p
