This has been on here many times before and it is still the same price on play as it was 12 months ago

Did a search and didn't find it on here, any way just ordered one think its a good price.

ok then I will give you the low down on this mouse as I have owned it for over a year now.

When I got it, it was superb for the price actually at lot of my gaming friends was shocked how good it was. comfortable to hold and very smooth and reactive.

After about 6 months it started to show signs of wearing from the abuse it took from A LOT of gaming. The first thing I noticed was the middle mouse wheel, it started to stick first thing in the morning. I did manage to fix it by opening it and adding plastic lube on it.

Now about 12 months after the middle mouse wheel problem has come back with avengace, it sticks like anything and lube does not fix the problem for very long.

All in all it is a good mouse for the price but don't expect it to last around for a long time

Taking a punt. Just hope it has a higher usb refresh rate then the standard windows one.

But so many positive reviews it's hard to resist! Thanks OP

have also had one of these for over a year now, don't have the problem with wheel sticking... but it does squeak often.. not a joke honestly, my mouse does squeak. It is annoying as I use the mouse wheel a lot to scroll down web pages... but for the price of £9.99 it might be worth putting up with it or change your mouse habits and instead of using the wheel, just move over to the scrollbar instead.
Other than the wheel problem this is one of the best mouses I've ever owned, and mine gets used a lot every day from 7am - midnight and beyond sometimes.. and after a year or so is still going strong and the only sign of wear is the gigagyte branding is rubbing off from wear my palm sits on the mouse. If I have to buy another mouse I will definitelt consider these again, and just hope I get one without a squeaky wheel next time :)

wouldn't let me edit my earlier comment - so just to add that I've actually had this mouse since 1 april 2009, just checked my order history with play.

Presumably the mouse wheel also acts as button 3, but where are buttons 4 & 5 located?
1 on either side, or both on the left?

Thanks, just what I was after - bought.

I have one and apart from one problem it's an excellent mouse.
Due to a rather strange key/mouse combo I use, I press mouse buttons 1 and 3 simultaneously quite often, when I press both buttons for a few seconds it toggles the "DPI" button (ie if it's set to slow, it switches it to fast and vice versa). A real ballache (mid game at least) :(
I looked at this deal 'cos I'm looking for a replacement...

I have that problem too, other than that it is a comfortable mouse and have had no problems with it.

I won one of these in a Gigabyte competition, it looks quite good for the price but I haven't opened it as I'm left handed (and currently use a SteelSeries Xai) :p

Good mouse for the money, but the deal is nothing new. It has been this price for absolutely ages.

I bought this mouse from Play.com 5 months ago and the price hasn't changed, it's still £9:99 with free shipping which is a very good deal for a laser mouse. This mouse is the most comfortable I've used, it's better than my Logitech MX518 which now sits on a shelf. So far not had any problems with the wheel button sticking and I'm gaming every night. The 800 dpi setting is perfect for normal desktop operations, and 1600 dpi is fast enough for me in FPS games. You can use it with or without a mousemat, I find that using a cloth mousepad actually requires more effort, but place it on any hard smooth surface and your mouse pointer glides effortlessly. If this one does go **** up, I'll just buy another, at under a tenner what's not to like!

took a punt - sounds a good mouse for the price. thanks for previous comments.

I've used one of these for over a year (no gaming, just general usage) and it's been excellent. In fact, I've been waiting for this to come down to £9.99 again to buy one for someone else - it's been £11.99 for quite a while if I recall correctly. Thanks for the tip-off.

Got my boss to buy me one of these at work, completely pointless but I just like the shape of these gaming mice (got a G5 at home)
#21
I have the optical version, pretty good mouse. Cant complain for the £8 or so i paid. I have a friend that built a fairly high end i5 gaming pc for about £500 or so, and it infuriates me how he uses a horrible old piece of trash optical mouse and an awful old keyboard, i really dont understand why when you can get a reasonable mouse like this.
banned#22
it's worthy~
#23
Any recomendations for a Keyboard to go with this?
#24
I got one of these last week but I don't like the position of the two thumb buttons. Your thumb has to reach up over the lip of the curve on the side of the mouse so they aren’t very convenient.
#25
Had one for ~4 months - been a massive improvement over old mouse. Would highly recommend. I'm sure a £30 gigabyte or similar would last a bit longer but for £10 who cares (I paid £13).
#26
Great mouse, using it now!
#27
i need a new mouse and keyboard set 4 xmas. is it worth buying this mouse now and keeping it for xmas? and any recommendations on a cheapish keyboard? i was thinking of get a logitech wireless mouse & keyboard set for like £20 and using that for general use and for gaming id use that logitech keyboard and a gaming mouse like this? any advice?

I have 2 PCs in my house.
1 PC uses the Logitech MX518
1 PC uses the Gigabyte mouse from this thread.

I use my other PC mainly for watching movies, so don't use the mouse often, so can't comment on wear and tear, but the shape of the Gigabyte is better.

For £10, this is the best mouse that money can buy.

thanx OP just ordered after watching and reading some reviews. hopefully its good but a tenner for a gaming mouse is a very good start :)!

lube does not fix the problem for very long.

That's what she said.

Just wanted to say that I've had this mouse for over a year now without any problems and it's a very comfortable mouse at that for just £10!! No complaints, great mouse. :D
#32
Got mine today. Anyone recommend a mat for this? I had some crappy ones in the house but the cursor does not move when using it with them. Works on top of a book though. Doesn't need to be anything special as I don't game just bought it because it's a really nice looking mouse.

- Mouse wheel feels odd when scrolling downward (toward the hand). As if it's rubbing where it shouldn't be - might be slightly mis-aligned & need some tinkering.
- Mouse 4 & 5 are also not in an ideal position - they'd be much more usable if they were arranged ontop of one-another, and further forward so they lay under the thumb tip.
- Also can't seem to make it remember the setting from the DPI button, is seems to default to the highest sensitivity after each reboot - when I want it on the middle setting :(
I suppose I could lower windows mouse sensitivity so that the highest setting on the mouse was usable.... but that sort of defeats the point of having a sensitivity button, no?

Not a perfect mouse, but definitely worth £10.

I got this in 2009 for that price
