Amazon UK selling reference design for £215.99 although no one recommend this for potential heat issue.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sapphire-Radeon-GDDR5-Expess-Graphics/dp/B01H01E4CQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1484835566&sr=8-1&keywords=480
or Amazon France is selling Sapphire Nitro+ 480 8GB for 223 EURO which is about £192 plus delivery.
https://www.amazon.fr/gp/offer-listing/B01IQS6NI0/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&condition=used

I am keeping an eye on a full spec 480 or 1060 for a long time. Still temping to get a 1070 though. Maybe I should wait till March for Vega.

Also this guy is selling two 1070 on Gumtree for £310/each

Amazon do frustrate me. I've had this card on my wishlist for some time - and now it seems there's two listings, both with an identical model number, but slightly different measurements/weight etc, but both sold by Amazon. Can anyone see a difference here between this deal and the link below (price aside!)? Surely there shouldn't be one since it has the same model number?

Wishlist one

It's not the first time I've noticed this either. They have two versions of several i5 CPUs as well, again both sold by Amazon, but sometimes the price can vary greatly! It makes the concept of having a wishlist for certain items to check pointless as you end up having to re-search Amazon over and over in case there's new versions of the exact same product!

Ok, rant over ;)

I was thinking the same thing about taking a bite now and either getting 1060 6GB or 480 8GB . Or wait for next gen architecture whenever they arrive, I am on a 7602GB its not terrible can play GTA5 at 1080 on everythibng turned to High at solid 62fps Vsync , but I dunno what to do , arn't the Vega release gooing to be super expensive competing with gtx 1080/ti end ??

The 480 8gb offers identical performance in most games while being better future proofing throught better compatibility through DX12 and Vulcan. Freesync monitors are cheaper than gsync and ReLive is as good as shadow play.

Similar decision by me. I have the XFX Rx480 black edition from laptop direct for £232 (after which? Trial discount) plus postage (cancelled out by topcashback)

10% faster than a 970 according to this.
Guess I'll wait for a 1070 to come up.

Wouldnt touch the reference card. was considering the nitro but was similar price in UK, and couldnt find cheap on Amazon France.
Was even looking at the Rs version, which Amazon had lightening deal on the other day for £211, but delivery was too long and the GTR is much better for overclocking.

personally, I found the reviews for an rx480 better than a 1060 on latest drivers, and the fact that freesync is so cheap. In the end it was just down to which RX480 to buy.

I also did think about Vega, but the new line isnt meant to replace the rx400 series. but more an attempt to compete with 1070 and 1080.

I think it's a glitch with my basket, from when I added it at the lower price. If I save it for later and add a new one, it is at the higher price.

TBH I got the Asus reference design, and it is fine. 120W is not that much heat anyway. Can't hear it over other components while playing. I've got it as eGPU so it is out in the open.

I know, I just mean if Vega is out, market might shake the price of 1070 a bit. see that gumtree guy selling 1070 for £310 is quite tempting. I am not in a hurry to get any new card so hold my money for now.

I ordered about 10 days ago a very decently priced 1060, got suspicious as it shipped within minutes without tracking. Contacted amazon who said they'd keep an eye on it, an hour later they'd issued the refund. It's still on my live orders list though!

I had the same order mate. Not got refund from Amazon yet but they told me I`ll get it. No chance of getting anything. The sellers were 100% scammers! (I wrote them an email and had no reply whatsoever) They are just bloody scammers.

As some one who sells on amazon form time to time, like ebay it gets automatically marked as shipped as soon as you buy the postage label from them, so its not necessarily anything to be alarmed about, also amazon seem to allow quite a few days for arrival, i always take my stuff to the post office for proof of posting the next working day, so i would expect they would have it within a few days however i only sell low value items, anything over 20 or so i always send tracked but amazons fees are so much higher than ebay that i only sell those on the latter. Send the seller an email if you dont get a quick reply thats probably when you should be worried, or if they dont seem to know when it was actually put into the mail or where.

I don`t know mate how this works out but one thing is definite; it has been dispatched from the UK with Royal Mail on the 9th and has not come yet. Within the UK? Takes more then 10 days? I wrote them a letter and Amazon as well prompted them. Have not heard anything back! Not even a buu or baa. Finally people started to give them the worst feedback and rating customers can do; like these are scammers, don`t trust them, no item, paid not received anything, amazon refunded me without asking etc. So after all these what would you expect? The card turning up at the end of the delivery time that is 25th of January? It`s joke!! Very disappointing joke to be hones!!

I can't message them, amazon don't have a valid email address for them. And as stated above 2 weeks delivery from in the UK, seriously?

I think amazon should just shut their marketplace account down, should not be allowed to operate without verifying their email address bank account and personal id frankly.
