ATI cards... **shiver**

I have had nothing but grief with ATI based cards, from bad crossfire driver support, dodgy HDMI out settings to **** poor design for the location of PCI-E connectors. Won't buy anything than nVidia now. Voted hot though as the deal is a good price. :D

I have a similar experience with ATI (now AMD) cards. Can't wait for GTX 560 to be released...

Planet nVidia sounds amazing. Unfortunately ATI owners live on planet earth.
I've had one memory leak on a driver playing Borderlands and nothing else to report, I seem to recall you had issues with Left 4 Dead 2?

Hiya, noob question here!

I Have a Nvidea GeForce 8400GS, I play World of Warcraft and after the latest huge patch I've found my fps slowed down, would changing to this card help dramatically or would I need to change my whole PC??

You dont say what else you have in your PC, but this card will make an massive difference compared to 8400 nvidia, that card is like 6years old and than it was a very low end card, However if your pc is that old and your asking this type of question, than dont buy this card just get a new pc, as i doubt this card will fit or that you psu can power it

you could tweak the card but with new expansion i would upgrade your card
nice card btw but i'll pass i have 5850 soon will have 2x cards be smooth running on guild wars 2

I cant work out why this card is cheaper than the 5850 and why it has less stream processors

5870 has 1600, 6870 has 1120.

it seems to me this card is not an upgrade, dut a downgrade rebrand like nvidia did with 9800GTX 250GT, which were worse than 8800GTX

I have both a 5850 and a 6870. Both are great, but the 6870 is deffinatly faster. :)

Had problems with my last 2 ATI cards; one overheating and the other not very well supported in linux! I'm going to try Nvidia next time :D

I currently have an intel core 2 6600 2.4ghz, an asus p5w dh deluxe motherboard and a geforce 8800GT graphics card.

Will this card work ok in my system? or do I need to buy a whole new motherboard and processor?

Thanks chaps
