Features

Powered by GeForce GTX 1050
Integrated with 2GB GDDR5 128bit memory
90mm Fan Design
Support up to 8K display @60Hz

Core

Boost: 1493 MHz/ Base: 1379 MHz in OC Mode
Boost: 1455 MHz/ Base: 1354 MHz in Gaming

GIGABYTE custom-designed 90 mm fan cooler, with air flow optimized cover and aluminum base. The cooler can dissipate heat effectively from the GPU while keeping the fan at lower speed and noise. Unique Blade Fan Design The airflow is spilt by the triangle fan edge, and guided smoothly through the 3D stripe curve on the fan surface, effectively enhancing the air flow by 23% over traditional fans. 3D Active Fan The semi-passive fans will remain off when the GPU is under a set loading or temperature for low power gaming. One-click Super overclocking With a simple click on XTREME engine utility, gamers can easily tune the card to meet their various gaming requirements without any overclocking knowledge, while saving the hassle of manual adjustment. Looking at the specs for this it appears that it can be ran from just pci slot ? If so this could a big step up from the gtx750ti.

Ermm the 980 is miles ahead in terms of performance, this card is even weaker than 960, let alone a 980. There wouldn't even benchmarks comparing the two.

Could I ask which is better? This one or this https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01M8M5T4T/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I need it for a media centre and hopefully play 4k bluray

Google both cards with the word benchmark.

Using the PassMark site http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/, it's demonstrated that the GTX 980 is benchmarked at 9686, vs 5654 for the GTX 1050. A massive difference, but also why it's half the price!

This is only 2gb ram and most games that'll be medium settings or even low. The 980 is 4gb I think and a lot better. Basically the 1050 is the next up from the 950, as 1060 is on up from 960 and so on.

For anyone wanting to compare any gtx card to each other use the bar chart at the bottom of this page. Gives a rough idea

Danjw The memory size eg 3gb vs 4gb etc doesn't have anything to do with the overall performance of the card. Older 2gb cards are not the same as newer ones.

Graphics cards strength depends on how many processes they can help compute per second, which depends on their architecture and number of active components.

Newer games do need more VRAM but that isn't the same as benchmarking result

Ye I know there is a lot more than that but some games a 2gb card will not be able to play higher than low-medium such as rainbow six siege, COD, Shadow of Mordor etc that's what I mean.

Will this play doom

Pay about 20 quid for and get the Ti version with 4gb of ram and you'll have a card that will play 1080p and highish settings on most games
#22
Anyone who bought the ts140 that's been offer , pop this in there , also window's 10 key for just over a tenner , nows there's a nice little machine for under £300.......

is the lower 2gb of ram going to noticeably affect performance for this card?

At higher resolutions yes. This card will play most games fine at medium to high settings at 1080p, crank that up to ultra and it may struggle. Its usually the AA and extra detailing preset at ultra or high settings that stresses the VRam on a card.
Bring the resolution down to 1600x900 and it'll likely just cope on high to ultra on most games.
If you're looking for a 1440p or 4k card this isnt the one for you.
