I voted hot but you can get a GTX 970 for a tenner more; better performance and less power consumption

Performance is about par in general but on games that are optimized for mantle this card is better . Branded 3rd party 970's like Gigabyte and MSI have gone up in price in the last few weeks . Looking to buy one of these used but every seller i found had bit-coin mining history so will get this at the weekend if nothing else turns up like a 780 .

I'm looking to buy a second hand GPU, what is bit coin mining history? And how does it affect a gpu? Is it something I should look out for?

Technically if done correct the gpu would be fine but who knows . If you looking on ebay etc check sales history to see if they've been selling any mining stuff . Worth having a google about it anyway .
