Giganews are offering a special price for new customers of $19.99. This special price is a World Cup Special is for new customers only and does not include VyprVPN Personal VPN. However, it does include the following:

unlimited monthly transfer +
256-bit SSL encryption +
50 connections +
676 days full binary retention +
unlimited speed +
24x7x365 support

Please dont vote this cold if you dont know what this is. Giganews is the best usenet provider out there and this price is the best I have ever seen from them for an unlimited account. Cheaper services are available but generally these dont have the same retention or reliability

Isn't $20/month normal price for most newsgroups? Sure thats what my astraweb one was, don't use it enough to keep the subscription though so canned it last year.

I use Astra now and then but get the 180 gig chunks. Works out far better if you only use it occasionally.

Its the standard price for most providers, but Giganews is usually $29.99 for their unlimited account with SSL so this is a $10 a month saving on that (note you would get the VyprVPN for the extra). This offer basically makes the best provider out there available for the same price as the standard offerings (but this has better retention and reliability).

How are they better? Can't check as at work, but I'm sure astraweb had 50 connections, SSL and nearly 600 days retention too? Certainly I was able to max out my 50Mb line nearly every time I used them, never used giganews but would be interested to see what they offer that is an improvement.

EDIT: My mistake, astraweb is only 20 connections. It is only 15$ though. The pay-per-use is 50 connections, 25$ for 180Gb. Actually quite tempting, may put some credit on that for the rare times I need something.

Yep, a top deal that, well happy with mine, good speeds and retention and not too bad a price for PAYG.
