I've just been to Sainsburys and picked up a couple of Gillette Fusion Phantoms (I'm not sure of the difference between Phantom and non Phantom) for £1.87 each. They come with 2 blades, the blades are about £2 each to buy on their own without the razor.

The Power version is also available for £5.

What are the difference?!

Gillette Fusion Phantom doesn't exist, I read the name in the shop and then remembered it wrong as I was typing the post.

Phenom is the actual razor...whereas a phantom is a ghost or apparition ...hence my post as nothing is ever in stock:-D

Thanks OP, will get my bf a couple if I can find 'em!
#8
wots the difference between this and a fusion power?
#9
I hardly ever end up buying Gillettes anymore, the Boots in Aberdeen seems to have a never ending offer for 5 Wilkinson Sword blades and a razor for around £4.

Good deal though if theres nothing cheaper around!

The Fusion power has a battery inside and vibrates to make your hair stand on end so it is easier to cut (apparently). The power version is £5 in Sainsburys now reduced from ten.

Decent tramp convertors these (i.e beard remover!) I've just retired my mach 3 for one of these (was also on offer at time I purchased) I would recommend.

All today's razors are a con.
My 1st razor had one blade.
My fusion Phenom has 5 and it vibrates.
......................................................................
So why does it still take as many passes over my face as my old 1 blade did to shave me?
#13
was 3 left in Sainsburys in the Westfield centre in Derby this morning if it helps anyone
#14

Collected full shelf of 14 @ £1.87 at around 11am at WX Herts. Staff asked supervisor whether correct price and as scanning at 1.87 instead of £7.49. Then allowed and asked for more to stock up for the year and notified out of stock as clearance!

#21
Could please send me a link ???
#22
i wonder why different prices for different stores ... i thought sainsburys run on a centralised system!!
#23
full price in my local (Southampton) about £7.25
#24
is this the razor handle & a blade attached to it + 2 spare blades?

or the handle and 2 blades?

I'm happy with my quatro and the blades are about 80p each, so if it's 3 blades I'll give it a go....if it's 2 it's still too expesnive.
#25
It's normal price at my local Sainsburys. Anyone got a barcode for the cheap one?

Ditto. In my case the answer is ...
... back in the days when I owned a razor with one blade (because that was all you could buy) I was only capable of growing bumfluff and shaved once a week, whether I needed to or not.

I now grow a heavy beard and spend twice or three times as much time cleaning the hairs from between the razor blades than I spend actually shaving.

Solution? I think I need to get myself a single-blade razor again.

£3.75 in my local store and the one in town had none at all for sale

Why not buy 14?!? I would have done, probably save the guy some money in the long run:thumbsup:

because it stops 13 other people getting them and the waste - 13 handles chucked in the bin :x

I see what you're saying but I have a soft beard and one of these blades can last me up to 3 months.

Non in my local, but called in Tesco's on way back and found them at £3.74. Not as good as Sainsburys but picked up a couple of packs anyway.
