good price. I really do prefer the xbox 360 control over the ps3. Head added.

how much do these normally cost?
#3
I purchased these a while back from HMV for a similar price although that deal doesn't exist anymore.
I wasn't convinced by the reviews but I have to say that they are very good and it now feels odd playing without them.

Good price and cheapest than other places but they must cost 0.01p to make.
#4
saw these for 1.99 at currys too

They're usually £2.99, have been for ages.

Think I got mine from HMV for £1.99 a while back, now I couldn't use a PS3 controller without them.

Heat.

Some 3rd party company really needs to copy the 360 pad and release it for the PS3.

I hate the 360 pad because the analogue sticks aren't parallel. It really bugs me.

Each to their own I guess but personally I just can't get on with the ps3 pad. In fact I really like the console but have bought and subsequently sold 2 PS3's due to the pad, I wanna get on with it but can't. Might come from playing so much 360 or maybe the size/weight of the ps3 pad, it feels so light and weedy, and the analogues (although parallel) don't feel as accurate.
#12
lol i got these free when i picked up opm magazine about a year back.
i tried using them in fifa and cod4 but they dont feel right, waste of money imo
#13
Bought mine instore from Currys for £1.99 and they are still the same price now.
But a good deal with free delivery.

Wouldn't use the controller without them now.

ps3 analogue sticks are too close together it hurts your finger after a while

^ I agree.

If a company made a 360 like pad for the PS3, i'd definitely get it.

The 360 pad is pretty much perfect imo.

i've never been a fan of the dualshock design, it does just feel wrong to me and always has.

the original digital only PS pad was a work of ergonomic genius, but Sony just got lazy when it came to designing an analogue pad imo.

the xbox pads have been far superior to any sony pad since MS ditched the ridiculously huge original xbox pad in favour of the controller S, and the 360 pad is the most comfortable pad i've ever used, everything is just in the right place.

i have used these on a Sixaxis pad and they certainly do make it significantly better (again, Sony at fault for lazy design, i mean whoever heard of triggers that curve towards you?)

but anyway, yeah, good price for a handy device that fixes a significant design flaw.

i suppose it's too much to ask for Sony to do a proper job and make a comfortable controller...*looks at his PSP and sighs*

websites down keep getting server error

I have these and they are way too bulky and uncomfortable owing to the fact that they are squared off round the back which make it uncomfortable to rest your finger on. I suppose it's worth a go for £2.

What about the d-pad and the concave finish on the sticks?

oh and there is a converter that allows you to use the 360 controller on the ps3 but it will not be wireless.

My hands are actually the same, both left and right. They mirror each other. And for that reason the 360 controller is inferior to the PS3 one.

I have to agree, the 360 dpad is shocking, but in every other way I find it the best pad I've ever used, and I find the concave sticks help thumbs stick on it better myself.

And where does one find this adaptor? I'd rather like one.

99p here but you have to pay p&p so only really good if u want something else from the site

the 360 pad is the best due to the parralel design of teh ps3.

nowdays the left analogue stick is always used by the left hand to move your character around the screen and therefore the left stick should be on the left side of teh controller to pevent straining the muscles in the thumbs and palm of the hand.

The right hand is mainly used for pushing the buttons and therefore should be on the right side which is equal on both pads.

the d-pads are used rarely for mainly chaningin weapons in shooters and therefore is used less so why should it take priority of the left analogue stick on the left side of the controller as it is used less it just doesnt make sense.

and also u wont find yourself needing some tacky stick on platic things for teh triggers :whistling:
#27
Yeah, going to get these as the ps3 control pad IS really a bit stupid when it comes to its triggers.

I see you mention changing weapons, so guess you play a lot of shooters, well then surely you would see the logic of having the left and right sticks located symetrically..

i.e. left stick to move character, right stick to move cross hairs....(with the d-pad and buttons used far less often.) surely in a shooter you would use the left stick as much if not more than the right...

as for your blinkered rambling about straining muscles is most perculiar. maybe you should have a warm up/warm down routine :whistling:

well he does rant a bit, but makes some valid points about the positioning of the left stick.

of course, it all comes down to how you hold the controller, but having the left stick on the left of the pad allows you to keep the thumb in line with your wrist, which does make it more ergonomical than having to reach over to the middle of the pad.

the right stick pretty much has to remain where it is, as the majority of the games utilise 1 stick + the face buttons, which is why the buttons take precedence on the right of the pad.

obviously shooters 99% of the time now use both sticks, which is unavoidable.

and talking about straining muscles isn't 'blinkered rambling', ever heard of RSI? I'm not quite sure why you're so obsessed with needing the sticks to be 'parallel' either. Ideally, for shooters you'd have a pad with both sticks towards the outside of the pad, but as i said, the dominance of the face buttons in control schemes kind of restricts that.

but as i say, it all comes down to personal preference, if you like the PS3 pad design, good for you, but many, many people find it uncomfortable.

labelling someone as 'loony' and 'blinkered' just because they don't share your view says more about yourself than it does about them.

As someone who's played a lot on both consoles, I agree with most of his points. Even though I was brought up on the Ps1, it makes sense that the analogue should now be moved from their original 'only some games support this so we're putting them out of the way of the main controls as a sort of additional thing' placement

You know, seeing as the d-pad used to be the main input for control, it wasn't placed in the centre of the face where it is most ergonomic and convenient for no reason!, but now that the analogue stick is used more and is more important (whereas the d-pad is now used only for secondary, minor functions) , it should really step up an claim its rightful place.

What with the combination of the analogue sticks being too close together in the centre and having to move both thumbs onto them for most games; but at the same time trying to press the abysmally designed 'mushroom triggers' on the back of the controller; it soon reveals itself to be anything but ergonomic! it becomes a pain to even hold the pad which using all four of those at once ;/

at least this trigger add-on makes it a little better, but in my experience they do have a tendency to come off during heated moments which can be annoying, especially if you cant pause so you have to go the rest of the duration with the handicap of the original mushroom triggers!

a more 360 like controller to use for ps3 would be appreciated by me too. =]

these triggers are only useful in some games say shooters, but i found it difficult playing motorstorm with them, but it's personal opinion

Yes I've heard of RSI can you tell me how the location of the stick has any bearing on this or indeed to straining muscles?
#38
I find these good for racing games where you constantly told the trigger, but they are useless for shooters where you need to tap the button etc

i have a box of these in work.

Tried a set at home on my PS3 , bloody things just slip back off ? :whistling:
