Unfortunately, Amazon marketplace deals aren't allowed here, so this deal will probably be deleted soon. Good posting, though. I'll drop you some rep in another thread for it.

I don't think I actually mean Marketplace (and have amended post accordingly), it's a legitimate Amazon item supplied by an affiliate (Avides Media), rather than a link to other sellers as with Marketplace items.

Thanks for the rep anyway!

Good deal heat added:thumbsup:

This may sound silly but does anyone know of a monopod where you can remove the foot leaving you with a female thread. thus enabling you to attach it to this tripod making a hybrid tri/monopod :w00t:

I'm sure this is really good but for those that are after really light weight for travel check this out :

http://*********.ie/HQ-TRIPOD19--TRIPOD,-MAX-HIGH-105-CM-Weight:-660g-(ie)_W0QQitemZ120387493924QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ20090307?IMSfp=TL090307171001r353

I have one - it is higher at just over a metre and a little lighter - on my kitchen scales it is 460gm and when you travel Ryanair every gm counts !

I think you'll find that quite a lot of monopods actually have a big rubber foot, that screws up and down to reveal a metal point which will do what you want...in fact most tripods have the same facility...

Would this be ok to mount a video camera on?

I'm after a CHEAP tripod to mount my video camera on but dont know much about them :(

Any ideas muchly appreciated :)

It says "Maximum recommended loading 2.5kg"

so if your video weighs less than that you should be OK, will also need to take account of the additional weight of a pan and tilt head. Keep in mind the maximum height fully extended is only 58cm - thats under 2 ft. Looks a bit flimsy for my camcorder.

Thanks for that but the monopod does indeed have a screw spike when removing the rubber foot hence you would unable to attach to this tripod as it’s screw to screw. Also they would probably have different threads so even a threaded tube would be of no use. My thought was to be able to carry the two and use them independently but also to combine them when needed.

I always seem to carry to much equipment but never have just the right thing
