Not really good deal for everyone, but a GREAT one for those with high prescription glasses... ASDA are doing frames with whatever lenses you need, 1 pair for £50, 2 pairs for £90! No paying extra for thinner lenses.

Vision Express charge £180 just for the thinner 1.74 plastic lenses alone. ASDA will do frames + lenses for £50!

Just been to Asda (with my prescription of -8 in one eye, -9 in other) and got 2 pairs of designer (1 bench, 1 nike) frames + lenses for £90, one with 1.74 plastic lenses and other with 1.91 glass lenses!! With my NHS voucher, that works out at cheaper than £40 per pair of glasses with the thinnest lenses available...

That hands down beats even all the internet only places like goggles4u! BARGAIN!

Not for thinner lenses... Goggles 4 U only offer the slightly fatter 1.67 lenses in plastic or the 1.71 for glass lenses both of which are £29 extra on price of frames.

You have obviously missed the whole point of the post... glasses are glasses are glasses...

The OP was about high index glass and that ASDA deal is incrediable if there isn't a stack of small print.

They never mentioned anything when I went down... and only thing they mention on website is:

Excludes prescriptions outside +20 or -20 or anything above a 5 CYL.

I think the opening paragraph says it all and should have avoided any confusion! "Not really good deal for everyone, but a GREAT one for those with high prescription glasses... ASDA are doing frames with whatever lenses you need, 1 pair for £50, 2 pairs for £90! No paying extra for thinner lenses.

For those that can fail to read that opening line I have tried bolding it, and clearly those that fail to read the opening line will realise this deal is for you!

Heat and repped, ideal for my wife who has a fairly high prescription lens.

At ASDA Opticians we are the first to ensure that the price you see is the price you pay, no matter what your prescription is.

All George single vision glasses are £50 and all designer single vision glasses are £70. All kids glasses are free with a valid NHS voucher!

Great quality and value for money.

The complete price on adults includes scatch resistant and anti reflective lenses providing fantastic value for money. All kids glasses include free UV protection.

I pay £60 per pair to have thinner lenses in specsaver so this is a bargain!!
