Anyone here tried it? Better or worse than the 12 it replaced?

Good reviews?

2/5 at masterofmalt from 136 reviews, about the lowest rated whisky on their site.

Nowhere near as good as the 12yo but a similar price unfortunately.

Had a bottle a free months back. Thought it tasted quite artificial and lacked any depth. Still drank it tho.

Really disappointed by this, the 12 year old it replaced was considerably better. Normally find this for about £22 in Asda, never tempted though.

Well renowned to be far worse. Wouldn't even buy at this price. Cynical no age statement quality and cost cutting.

Worse and by a long chalk. Might consider it at £12-15 a bottle.
Ok, not truly awful, but for £22 there's better out there - supermarkets have offers all the time on single malts.

Very artificial tasting. Almost plastic. Nowhere near in the same league as the Glenlivet 12 which it replaces. Google says this new whisky typically contains 6 year old whisky which is why it has a name rather than an age statement on the bottle

Thanks for the info BA. I have an unopened bottle of 12 which I'm saving to see what happens with prices. Seems to be about 40 these days.
