I wouldn't really call this a 'glitch' more a case of clever thinking.
Not going to vote as this isn't really a deal in my eyes, just a variation of what's already been posted.

Well done on getting a good deal anyway ;)

Very clever idea, heat given as this would save me another 10%

Thanks matrix, I couldn't understand anyone who would say this is cold... if you are buying something from halfords anyway, then the extra 10% off would be worth it for minimal fuss...

Also the sat nav I am buying was £229.99 and I am paying less than £150, if thats not a deal, I dont know what is
#4
good thinking!!!
#5
And don't forget a possible 4% Quidco. On the £163.55 + £145.46, it could be another £12.36 :-), total saving = £42.36, or in effect you get the £179 SatNav for £136.64

Sorry for being a bit thick here - too much chocolates! Do I make an initial purchase of gift vouchers and then go back with my purchased vouchers to buy the item I actually want?

Thats the one, ie, £160 gift vouchers = £145.xx then the sat nav at 179.99 becomes £163.55 (another 10% off)

So what was £179.99 to start with has only cost £145.xx

And as pointed out by Bigbigblue, you get 4% cashback through quidco on the £300+ which works out nicely

just re-reserved at another store for the cashback...

I have just tried to order £35 pounds worth of vouchers via Quidco, but all of the stores - up to 28 miles away - are saying Unfortunately all your local stores are out of stock.:(
#10
Genius.. just reserved the £20 voucher, so I'll be paying £18 for Castrol 4L oil, rip off but I normally pay over £20, lets hope it works.

Am I right in thinking, we reserve today, collect tomorrow and benefit from the gift voucher offer.

Wonder if you could pay for gift vouchers using gift vouchers, really could clean up then. . . . . . . . .
#12
good luck getting a manager to hand over vouchers with a discount.
#13
that might be why they are out of stock in some stores now... lol

i'm sure, like argos they will have a clause stating that gift vouchers can not buy gift vouchers... would be good though
#14
I tried and chosen "All stores nationwide" and there is not one single store where i can reserve the vouchers! Doesnt work for me in that case!!! ;(((
#15
which voucher are you trying?

It has worked for me, I have tried to add pic (Will be approved later) but its in the pre-mod queue

It appears that if you have anything in your account other than vouchers it shows as unavailable. I also cant find a store which has £5 vouchers.
#19
I found £20 vouchers in most stores - however these are only reserved until close of Boxing Day....which really doesn't help if you're currently on the Isle of Wight but live in London!
#20
I'm having the same problem as flang, but I think I've sussed it. If you need £35 in vouchers you need to do 2 separate transactions - one with 3 x £10 and then a second with 1 x £5. I've just had to do that to total £72, buying vouchers in £20, £10 and £1 denominations in 3 separate transactions.
#21
I tried to buy £10, £5 and £1 vouchers. Can't find any in the whole of Lancashire. :(
#22
Tempting, if only I could use the vouchers to buy a bike and then put it away for another year when I'll need it......
.............don't think it'd work though X)

Yep, you can only add one type of voucher to your basket, if you try to mix them (ie a £20 & £5, or £20 & £10) it'll show as no stock.

So Zuulan try reserving a £10 voucher only in Lancashire and you'll find they're in stock. You might need to get the amount you want in 2 transactions but they are in stock.

good luck getting a manager to hand over vouchers with a discount.
They are listed in the 10% off sale, and it does state that "The price you see is the price you pay, even if it is cheaper than the usual in store price!" so they're can't really be any problem can there?

Just found the same issue. Tried to purchase £63. If I tried 3 x 20 and 3 x £1 in one transaction it advised non available across all of uk. When I tried 3 x £20 - it processed. Re-tried with 3 x £1 - it processed. Will just feel a div as I pay tomorrow but hey ho.

reserve bike to collect
buy value of reserved bike in vouchers

Only buy ONE denomination of vouchers in one purchase. If you want to buy two different denominations, do two separate transactions.

Ok bud.... heres what I did...

I reserved a bike yesterday which was reduced from 449 quid to 199, the site sale gave that 10% off making it 179.. Reserved that on christmas eve and it can be picked up between tomorrow and monday.

Today I ordered 180 pounds worth of vouchers 9x20 pound vouchers (=180) with the 10% discount they came to 162 pound in total. They have to be picked up by tomorrow.

So i'll be collecting the vouchers when I walk in the shop, i'll then breeze around to the bike section and say im here to pick up my bike, then pay with them.

Thats right yeah lmao ;)

Thanks bud

heat given this is excellent thinking. I've ordered a load because i need some tyres doing.
Price for 2 michelins for car is £135 they are doing an offer on Halfords/nationwideautocentres site of 10% till jan. so this makes £121. ordered £120 of gvchers for £108 so should get my tyres for £109.

All this assumes they take halfords vouchers in the garage part ? anybody know?
