This contains 6 knives + knife block as opposed to 5 knives + knife block that other "6 piece" sets contain.

From very modest beginnings Global has developed into one of the most successful brands of professional kitchen knives in the world. Still crafted by hand in Yoshikin's factory in Niigata, Japan, Global knives are manufactured to extremely high and exacting standards. Global knives have attracted much acclaim over the years and received a number of awards

They have always been that price in costco, but still the cheapest around, but I would not pay that price for 6 knifes.

Excellent value. When you use a decent set of knives, you'll never go back to using bog standard ones

I have had my knives for a long time about 18 years, they were used before I had them too. My MIL bought them over 30 years ago from Woolworths and they are still as good as they were the day she bought them, they didn't cost anything like that lol

It's virtually impossible to keep a bad knife sharp though, and it's only 'professional' type knives that will get as sharp as this set

People who "lol" will not appreciate global knives and that is a scientific fact

If only Woolworths knives weren't so good and didn't last so long, they might have got repeat custom and not have gone bust! :)

good deal, Global knives are not to everyone's taste though
A Victorinox set would be half this price and last just as long

People who have sense usually lol at deals like this! ;)

Seriously, you do not have to pay this much for good knives. The only people I could see these being of any particular use to are chefs or ponces!

Does anyone know if this price includes VAT? Can't afford them now so will kuhn rikon in the mean time. Good price considering the G2 chef's knife goes for around £90 from the approved distributors in my area.

Think they are offering a different set to the one you saw because today I saw the 6 piece set (block with 5 knives) as the picture below. The block has 11 slots for adding your own preferred knives and sharpener. Definately the cheapest I've seen for Global knives. The plain 11 slot block alone costs £150+ on most websites.
Voted hot.
