is this the same one that was on the news today for being dangerous. Something about toxic
#2
if so, could get very cold in here
#3
they will prob only send Mr Sqiggles that has the saftly issue !
[helper]#4
One per customer, what's the point when there is a set of 4?
#5
Please note:All Go Go Hamsters sold through John Lewis have passed strict safety tests and meet all required safety regulations.
#6
Note - Reported Issue not confirmed by another body jjust the US Consumer Organisation 'GoodGuide'. Read into that as you will but dont take it as gospel that it is the truth or confirmed because one org has come out with this report. Im sure British Standards would have tested the toys before allowing them to be sold here in the UK? Or at least you would have though so.

Spot on. The tests were not even official and did not meet the standards of the official testing.
#16
What a silly thing to say. Not everything is tested for and properly. Take some medicans and foods which have been found to breach the laws. So im sure toys will get past some as well. I never take anything for gospel but when something is pointed out I do take note until I hear otherwise.

I yet havent tested the rules for cars that I shouldnt die when being hit at 20mph, but I will just take their word for it.

When my water company said dont drink the tap water as it was contaminated, I drank bottled water, even though my water hadnt been confirmed as contaminated.

Not nice........how can you profit from other peoples desperation...your greed will come back and bit you:thinking:
#21
will be interesting whether John Lewis will actually ship so many to each person when they have limited them. May allow checkout, but I wander what will ship and get charged for.
#22
Maybe having 8 in one place will affect her with the toxins :whistling:

how irresponsible was that toxic warning, now they are back tracking anyway. hope the company that makes go go hamsters sue those idiots
#24
Ordered 4. Gone through checkout. Hope they dont cancel order.
#25
I have one on the way for my daughter and its a dilemma. if you take the issue that the risk is not worth it then in theory you'd need to avoid a vast amount of toys as china and associated nations produce somewhere in excess of 30% of toys ( and all could be contaminated by such chemicals)

oh and my last word on the Toxins thing. Yes it maybe a stupid test by someone unoffical, but would you really risk your childrens health just to please them. Its ok to ignore these articles for yourself, but these will be young kids playing, cuddling and chewing on them.

Maybe your parents were the type to ignore the asbestos warning when they first came to light.

Might I also say that I have four kids who i'm sure would love one of these but as they didn't specifically ask for them for xmas, I'm going to leave them for parents who are desperate to fulfil their childrens wishes.....I'll buy mine after xmas....shame on you!

These have been fully tested & this report is not proven or considered to be of any significance by safety bodies worldwide so just sounds like propaganda to me!
#32
Since these are for 3+ year olds (Correct me if I'm wrong) and the chemical (If it exists) is only dangerous if ingested (Do 3+ yr olds stick things like this in their mouths) I wonder what the risk REALLY is.

Well I think there are 2 ways of looking at it tbh. Is the glass half empty or half full?

We could look at loads of studies and warnings that are released from OFFICIAL studies or tests. There are reports out every other week saying tea is bad for you, then it's good for you. One glass of wine a day is great for you, the next you can't have more than a bottle in 2 weeks. The oxymorons and contradictions that are publicised are often a joke and are there to make extra news. The media love bigging things up to scare the public. Take things with a pinch of salt. Unless I was to hear that anything was wrong from the official testing company or Character Options, I really wouldn't worry. Anyway, Christmas is still weeks away so if there was anything wrong, I am sure it would be found out within the next 2 weeks. However it is highly unlikely they would have passed all the strict and rigid tests if there was anything wrong.

anyone with any sense shudnt be giving these to a child after the news report 2day, even a the littlest threat of something should be looked at, and even the owners are contacting the consumer group for the results, so they are concerned
#35
Has anyone had their order confirmed by e-mail yet?
#36
Just order four, kids SORTED, voted hot hot hot
