Pre-Order the incredible looking God Of War 3 only on PlayStation 3 for just £34.99 (remember Quidco of 3% cashback too!)

Offer ends 23:59 on Thursday 04 March 2010.

------------------------
Set in the realm of brutal Greek mythology, God of War III is a single-player game that allows players to take on the climatic role of the ex-Spartan warrior, Kratos, as he scales through the intimidating heights of Mt. Olympus and the dark depths of Hell to seek revenge on those who have betrayed him. Armed with double-chained blades, and an array of new weapons and magic for this iteration of the trilogy, Kratos must take on mythologys darkest creatures while solving intricate puzzles throughout his merciless quest to destroy Olympus...

Key Features

- Only On The PS3 System: The award-winning development team leverages the processing power and technology of Playstation 3 system to make God of War III one of the most-graphically advanced next gen titles available, with even the dramatic cut screens running off the in-game engine.

- Groundbreaking Depth Of Scale: Kratos will explore areas up to 4 times larger than those found in God of War II, as well as carve through entire armies while navigating on the back of Titans - living, moving, breathing levels as tall as the Empire State Building.

- Stylised Realism: Players will battle in detailed and unique 3D worlds lit by thousands of dynamic lights and textures with quadruple the resolution, which allows for realistic muscle striations, detailed facial expressions, and new heightened levels of brutality and gore.

- Signature Gameplay: Brutal combat, intricate puzzles, exploration of awe-inspiring worlds, and a compelling and satisfying ending to Kratos epic story.

- Sophisticated Storyline: The God of War III storyline is the epic conclusion to the triology; the storyline will be told in a way that is true to traditionalist roots in Greek mythology, from moral consequences to brutal battles against the Gods.

- Rideable Creatures: Several of the menacing creatures of Greek mythology in God of War III can now be manipulated against their will, as Kratos uses them to cross chasms, inflict blind rage against enemies, reveal puzzles and secrets, and as tools of complete annihilation.

- New Weapons And Combats System: New deadly weapons such as the Cestus - powerful metal gauntlets with devastating strength - and other brutal instruments of war that will allow Kratos to learn ruthless new techniques such as grappling with enemies and launching explosive wall-to-ground attacks.

Same price at Amazon but comes with a bonus character skin.

Guess it's a case of either - free skin or £1 quidco.

The Hut group will no doubt have another 10% voucher soon which will take their price down to £33.95.

So it is :) Not sure I'd trust Amazon to get it to me for release day - mind you, nor HMV for that matter!

If there was ONE game that would make me wish I had a ps3, it would be this!

For what it's worth, HMV got the Heavy Rain LE to me the day before release day.

Anyone who still have the HMV student discount from last year should still be able to get 10% off this. So that'd make this £31.50. Very tempting. Although not sure if it will work if you are pre-ordering it. It should do right?

Only thing i'm worried about if the supermarket will have those price wars like they did with CoD. They won't would they?

I'd trust HMV over amazon ANYDAY

Im hoping that Asda, Sainsburys or Tescos have a launch night offer like they did with CODM2. Hopefully it'll be like £26!

I'd highly doubt it. The main reason they had the price wars with cod is because of the huge hype, so they knew no matter what that they'd lure hundreds of people into their stores, wether they have any left in stock or not. PS3 games just dont sell very well unfortunately, so this, like Heavy Rain, will probably stick around the £30 for months, just like Uncharted 2 is now.
#15
Unless this is a collectors edition or some special freebies given away wit this edition its a cold vote and deal from me. Why is this even on hotukdeals for a game that will most probably be this price one most other websites within a few weeks or even days??

I'm sorry. What?

If you aren't impressed by those I think you'd be best to give up gaming. Take a look at Gametrailers TV from friday on gametrailers.com...The graphics are stunning.

YES! Watch this and you'll see how much better:

Also it's 100% in-game/in-engine footage that they are showing. NO CG!

I was basing it on the E3 demo on PSN. Other than slightly higher res textures there wasnt much difference between the E3 demo and the remastered 1 & 2 games. So if you were impressed by the demo's graphics then you havent played many games at all

I'll check out more gameplay vids.

Hah. If I was impressed by those graphics then I haven't played many games at all? Why would the amount of games I've played matter? I could have seen many games or one or two and still know that even from the demo that the graphics of GoW3 are excellent. :whistling:

Nah the demo graphics were really toned down. I'm guessing its because of size issues. PS3 demo's are generally huge, but it is quite small compared to other game demos on PSN that dont have as long a demo as GoW3 but have all the full textures implemented etc.

The demo in a sense looks like a pile of crap compared to the gameplay ive just watched :)

I think some people simply don't like the art style and that's why they don't like the graphics.

This is a hot deal, although I still think it's a very average but thoroughly over-rated game.

100% agree, it's very impressive

Titles such as Uncharted 2 have been tempting, but for these eyes this is the first system seller for the format. Day one purchase if I didn't have to fork out for a console at the same time
#34
I'm not sure about this game... If it's anything like the first two it'll seem slow and boring now in comparison to Bayonetta. I've been spoiled!
#35
One game which is must have for ps3, not sure about the extortionate price, probs will wait, there gotta be a supermarket price war, played the demo what an awesome game will probs blow uncharted 2 out of the water.
If you have,nt played the demo yet, download it now on your ps3 and play it, its a rush.
This game will be worth forking out for a ps3.

Not a chance in Hades.

Doubt it. Theres no multiplayer so no long term value once the single player is done - most people will buy, play and sell.

I reckon it will be at the £18 mark after about 4-5 months, similar to Bayonetta.
#38
At last the demo is up for download for people who have not bought the God Of War Collection (GOW 1 & 2).
#39
Had it pre ordered at shopto for 37, but have ordered at HMV for 31.49 now. My student discount is back again so am very pleased. Thanks for this!

i have an old student discount card but i dont see a place to use it on the site when ordering or in my account. also, it may have expired. can anyone help?
