High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) is rapidly emerging as the connection standard for HDTV.
HDMI combines high-definition video and multi-channel audio in a single digital interface to provide crystal-clear digital quality over a single cable.
HDMI offers significant advantages over analogue A/V connections, including the ability to transmit uncompressed digital video and audio content. This 19Pin HDMI cable has gold plated contacts for the best possible connection

Bargain!! Just bought 4 for just under £10. The next cheapest in shops is Tesco @ £5 each and they're not gold plated.

Just put an order in for one of these, the car cigarette lighter USB adapter for 99p and their 1gb memory sticks for £1.99

mmmmmm nice!

Gold plated? I'm just waiting for the inevitable great "HDMI Debate" to begin.

Nice for a cheap cable but maybe better off with something like this for the best possible picture.

That monitor in THIS review mentions inbuilt speakers so you should get video & sound out of the monitor by just using this HDMI cable :)

You need an Xbox Audio Dongle then.

http://tbn2.google.com/images?q=tbn:LnJWsr7wjUhKeM:http://www.gamepro.com/microsoft/xbox360/games/news/images/110489-9.jpg

Plugs in at the same time as the hdmi lead and allows stereo out via rca's or optical out.

You can snap the casing off a microsoft 360 component AV lead and slide it in next to the hdmi cable (normally it is too big to have both connected at the same time) on the back of the 360 then use its audio out rca's (red/white)

This is how I got audio out of my 360 with the hdmi cable in but it has somehow set the 360 into only giving me vga resolutions in the display menu even when the hdmi cable is in (No hd 720p 1080i or 1080p options) :(

I think he's joking. Well, I hope anyway :p

Then again, I remember spending quite a lot on a belkin hdmi cable when I first bought a ps3, without any prior research.

sorry! :D

is this a good enough quality cable to connect with my 360 that gets played on around 2 hours a day? (im talking about picture quality, not durability) As i heard there's differences on the quality of hdmi cables, but im not going to spend £60 on a cable! Just want to know if there's a better one for under £15-£20.

Bargain, been looking for a cheap HDMI cable to cut open :-D

These seem like good prices too:

3x HDMI Switch £8.99

120w invertor £16.99

(s)He's exaggerating, but he's right in this case. Yes, over huge lengths of cable you can get a problem, but not over 1.5m and the link to that idiotic thing on Amazon just proves the old adage "a fool and his money are easily parted."

just ordered 3 cheers!

"The strategy in selling these products is, in part, to appeal to those who are looking to impress others with something unique and expensive. There is also pride of ownership and the belief that if it costs that much it must be good. It reminds me of the Percy Bysshe Shelley poem Ozymandias but for speaker wire it translates to “Look upon my expensive wires ye mighty and despair.” It will always sell to those who want the latest thing and would spend as much for a Rolex watch as they would for wire. Of course, there are ordinary watches that will tell time accurately they but don’t have that name or that price.
Another part of the strategy is to capitalize on the lack of truth in advertising, particularly the whole truth. Perhaps the two words “truth” and “advertising” are on opposite extremes but half of the truth can be worse than a lie. I don’t think the average consumer is any match to cope with the persuasive sales “hype” of professional salesmen praising a questionable wire science and doubtful benefits.
When confronted with the truth, believers do not want to hear about it. They want to remain in the magical world of fantasy where they think they can hear improvements in their wire, often arrived at by making listening tests without adequate controls or understanding of the problems involved. One of the prime tools in creating such a faith for the average consumer is by capitalizing on fear and ignorance as in many other things that aren’t readily apparent. There is fear that the wire currently in use is not good enough. There is ignorance because most people do not have scientific knowledge in this area and lack adequate measuring equipment to prove otherwise."

And those wise words were written about analogue signals.

For those that do want the quality/price argument the link above has some great info. Also along the same lines was the audio test below:

Oh yeah, looking forward to the heated HDMI cable-quality debates! Great price for a gold-plated HDMI cable - I purchased mine from ebuyer about a year ago for 3.66 (Plexus 2m in length and gold-plated).

If the xbox360 has an hdmi socket on the back (there is an hdmi logo over the socket if you have one) and your hd tv has hdmi in then yes this will get you audio and video on it :)

woah hang on.... it depends what port your HD TV has....

one end of this cable is HDMI, which needs to goto your xbox, and the other end is DVI, which your TV needs to have. Weird chunky plug, with some pins, and a flat connector

You should be able to connect red and white directly to tv, thats the way I have it and audio out sounds great. Do you notice any difference in sound from the above method?
