Discover a world of mystery and danger in 'The Golden Compass', the upcoming action adventure video game based on the best-selling novel by Philip Pullman and the major motion picture from New Line Cinema. Going beyond the film you can experience the unforgettable journey through the eyes of protagonist Lyra Belacqua on a quest to rescue her imprisoned uncle and kidnapped best friend. Joining Lyra on her mission is her spirit daemon, Pan, as well as a giant and powerful armoured bear, Iorek, and the mysterious Golden Compass a truth-telling device that will help lead the way.

'The Golden Compass' promises to bring the beloved story to life through adventure and harrowing action sequences. As Lyra, players will evade dangers and traverse a magical landscape while uncovering the secret behind the disappearance of her friend and uncle. And as Iorek, the fearsome armoured bear, players will smash through obstacles and enemies in order to protect Lyra along her way. Their travels will take them through a collection of unique locations, such as the port town Trollesund and a dark and foreboding research station in Bolvangar as well as areas not seen in the film. Together Lyra, Pan and Iorek embark on an epic journey of action, exploration, collaboration and discovery

Worst Rated Ps3 game ever :
Game Informer
It pains me to say this, but turn off your TV and just read the book or head to your local theater. This is a story everyone must experience, just don’t try interacting with it.

The game will sap you until all that's left is a dry, withered husk. [Issue#162, p.89]

The Golden Compass isn't the worst game based on a movie, but it's close. It's a combination of uninspired platforming, poorly implemented mini-games and slow and broken storytelling.

Game Revolution
In general, playing the game is a sinusoidal process of momentary elation as you uncover a new element, quickly followed by deep disappointment as you discover it’s a piece of ****.
can you get it instore for that price????
Another cheapo PS3 game for the villa! If the reviews are anything to go by, no-one will want to steal it
Loved the film, so lets hope its reasonable. Bet the graphics are good!:thumbsup:
This game's fine for kids, pretty easy with a few puzzles. As it's mainly adults that review em they're gonna say its rubbish!!! lol
Let's face it, it can't be much worse than Spiderman 3. And if that keeps the young uns happy for hours on end, then this can't be MUCH worse. At least they'll get my £8.99 worth out of it, then it's a trading we will go. Heat added. Thanks.

It's £38 in store by the way.
Film was great, Book is AWESOME. Lets hope this game is good 2.
Why is this hot? A cheap turd is still a turd.
Hot deal. Cheap as you like, good deal if you have kids I guess. They don't usually mind and this will put a smile on their faces.
Fantastic book.

I really enjoyed the film.

I'd rather stick needles in my eyes than play this game again.

The DS game is just as awful.

Cheap for a PS3 game, I guessing it's rubbish?
what you expect from an 8.99 game on the ps3 , voted hott
Great price for a PS3 game, thanks juliakill :)
I'm sure it's not my eyes, but this game is £17.99 and NOT £8.99 on their web-site...

Anyone else?
Thanks for updating the 'Expired' Status...
