Anyone played this game yet?

I (as many others did) loved the original and played it to death!
#2
I've got it, had a quick (10mins) go and it seemed OK. Aim seemed a bit fiddly with the wii remote, I may try it with a pad. The first location definitely seemed familiar, it's been reviewed well and I'm looking forward to playing it when I've got a bit more free time. ;)
#3
Looked good on the IGN review. I would probably be tempted at this price if I had the console.
#4
Great game, never had the original, so don't know how faithful it is to the original. Online multiplayer is great, and no lagging.
Prefer to play it with Wii classic controller, got two for £4-99 each pre-owned from GameStation.

Goldeneye with Daniel Craig. It just doesn't seem right at all.

Kinda jealous of Wii owners atm cos of this game :p
#8
Had a quick play but found the wii controls a real nightmare. I've gotten some new settings to try whcih improve them quite a bit apparently.

so is this the start of the price drop for this game? Maybe not sell that well, or PC world have loads left? Too many people never bothered and waited for Black ops on the 360/PS3?
#10
can you use the d-pad on most games for the wii? So your gaming like a normal pad? Or are most games motion controlled? I want a wii for marios, goldeneye etc but not a fan of using the wii motion stuff, i prefer to just use a normal pad.

anyone able to help?

Or indeed the Wii version of Black Ops? :p
It's strangely compelling and i'm quite impressed they bothered: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3sM4DtwRXs

Multi-player? 1 hit kill, no weapons, basement and one of you is It.

So many hours of multi-player fun in the N64 one, we knew every inch of the maps, grenade launcher off 3 or 4 walls to land at someone's feet with no LOS at all.
#13
Really loving the multi-player in this game - interesting controls setup too, which just adds to the mayhem.

Single player is decent too - very different from the original, which is disappointing to start off with, but having larger levels, more variety and really good designs pays off.

There are very few games that really use motion control, the best one is still Wii Sports. Some games uses the wii-mote motion as a replacement for a button so a flick of the wrist instead of a button press.

Probably because the Wii is so easy to mod without penalty (i.e no ban hammers like MS), this game was up for download prior to official release..... sad really!

Just an FYI, you're not going to be able to get this for 19.99

The voucher printout claims it can't be used for online transactions - I'm assuming reserving online qualifies as an online transaction. The in-store price for the game is 29.99
#17
The voucher doesn't work against online transactions according to the print out. I'm assuming using the [email protected] feature means this is an online transaction. The in-store price is 29.99 at warrington so I'm guessing it will be the same price in each.

In other words it won't be possible to get this at 19.99

amazing offer. thanks to the OP

Went to PC world , picked up a leaflet. Got home, printed voucher in 5 minutes and confirmed price online. Then went to local Currys to buy. The assistant said i was the first person to use the voucher! transaction went through without any probs.

while i was there, i grabbed another copy of the gift guide - couldnt resist!

just need to find time to sit down and play the thing....

wrong, my friend. Was 24.99 in one of the Stoke on trent stores about 20 mins ago. take a copy of the online price along as evidence. i did, but the price instore was definitely 24.99.

Ok, well in that case I'd recommend that everyone hoping to nab this for 19.99 phones their local store before going to collect to save disappointment.

Edit: Taking along a copy of the online price won't help, they don't match prices in-store to online. They only give you the online price as a reserve and collect.

did you got to Currys or PC world? wasnt sure if the pricing takes a while to change between the stores. I bought mine from Currys superstore. i know they do a price match in the area, but that is more hassle than its worth! maybe if more people can verify the actual instore price from currys.
#22
The warrington one is a Currys/PCWorld superstore so they're both under the same roof. Not sure if they do things differently.
#23
Brought the game friday completed one player by monday. Found impossible to play using the wii remote so had to buy a classic controller pro. Online is no match for black ops. The origional was great in its day but things have moved along since then. I've now sold my copy and would recommend a rent but not a buy.

Goldeneye is priced at £29.99 in both my local curry's and pc world. Online, the game is £24.99 in PC World. I queried the price in my local PC World, and he scanned the game and it came up at £24.99. So I bought it with my voucher for £19.99!
