These headphones are honest to god amazing! At first I thought they were WAYY to heavy on the bass but then after manually adjusting the equaliser on my Samsung YP-T10, they became the most crisp and clear headphones on the market! I reguarly listen to heavy metal and the vocals, drums and guitars sound so clean and everything is just TOO right, I just have to share!

My brother bought the Shure SE110 when they were on half price around £20, we tested both with the same player, equaliser, volume and same song. We came to a conclusion that overall the Goldring - it's just so much better and it's louder! It out performed the SE110 which is now retailed at £49!

It also comes with the MagicFoam ear plugs, which you squeeze and it forms a mould exactly how your inner-ear looks like in order to give maximum noise cancellation (it does a damn good job!) and in my opinion they are very comfortable after a long period of use.

At this price they are a steal!

This is reviewed in Gadget show here (Apparently used for Fighter Pilots to block out Helicopter noise!) - http://fwd.five.tv/gadgets/audio-video/hi-fi/headphones-headsets/goldring-gx200-earphones

Goldring GX200 Post

i was thinking this was breaking up too soon

Poorly reviewed by a magazine that seems to hand out 5 stars willy nilly. My friend had these and hated them because they have no bass.

I just got a pair of these after seeing them on the earlier post and they are pretty awful, bass heavy and a very flat mid-range.
#6
Heat added at this price.

But my experience was I found them so uncomfortable I went back to my CX300s.
#7
I found the bass to be too heavy but as said before, just change your equaliser, I RECOMMEND manually adjusting the equaliser in order to truly understand why I gave it such a good review.

The Magicfoam is not uncomfortable at all, I have tried them while riding my motorbike and jogging in the park, they were secure and very comfortable while cacelling lots of noise (especially wind noise)
#8
Had three pairs of these. Longest lasting ones lasted ~ 2 months.

AVOID.

These are not that loud on my blackberry or iTouch , cx300 are better i would say

These are great headphones, but really spoilt by the asymmetric cords.

After each use, you'll end up untangling these cords forever, very annoying, at what is otherwise a very good pair of headphones.
#11
Sound quality on these is poor. Overly dominant bass and the mid range simply doesn't sound 'warm' or provide any sort of realistic soundscape. No where near as good as my Sennies or even my Sony EX71s.

Even for £15 you can get better, so COLD.

Asymetric design flaw, they'll end up splitting at the join.

Just ordered but cancelled now because others have had problems.

I'm a sucker to others changing my thoughts.

Might get some triple.fi 10's and not have any worries :) if only I had enough money.
#14
Ordered - one for me & one for my brother.
Thanks

These are really bad earphones in terms of design, I would very much rather buy the Senny CX300s in this price bracket...

Yeah because no one listens to a radio in the car ? *sigh*

Been looking for some decent headphones, good find, heat added.

Agreed while the Bass is full and heavy and i do love the old Bass the whole sound stage is empty because the mid range is virtually completely missing and no matter what graphic equaliser setting i use on my 160gb ipod i still sounds awful even to the point where i cant hear the bloody words being sung, quite frankly crap.
I still rate very highly the cx300's as they might not have the most accurate sound but do present the most enjoyable musical message to my ears.

Are these the ones that were review on the gadget show a few weeks ago, something about US fighter pilots using them? Just had my second pair of CX300s break in the same way - the left earphone has virtually no volume - so might give these a try - thanks!
#23
Awesome offer, just ordered some for myself thnks

My first post =)

I think they did mention these on the Gadget Show, but I have no idea why they are rated when they sound like the free ones you get on airlines!

Play were selling the Sony EX85's for £12.99 a couple of months ago and they knock spots off these Goldrings.

On my second pair of CX300s now and the Creative EP-830s are going back for a refund as they only lasted 4 months with little use!

CX300s are so good for the money when they are working though :-) 2 year warranty too.

I picked a set of these up and I'm pretty happy with them.

I've been using a set of MDR71s for 7+ years and these are comparable in terms of both comfort and overall sound quality (and they were £40!)

People moaning about lack of bass either have weird shaped ears or didn't read the instructions - use the right-sized earpieces and fit them properly (pull your ears back as you fit the phones) and they're AOK...

I'd say they're comparable to Senn CX300s - music wise one or the other may be preferrable to you but there's not much in it in terms of build, cables etc. etc. I personally didn't like the CX300s sound but that could just be me.

They are a bit lacking in mid-range - compared to the Sony's - but this actually means things like TV or classical music sound better as I've always felt the Sony's were a bit mid and bass heavy anyway

The asymmetric design is ideal for portable headphones IMO (less clutter) but they also adjust for symmetric or even 'necklace' fitting if you wish.

The optional Comply 'memory foam' earpieces which come with them are interesting and VERY comfy but the sound quality seems to suffer a bit and they'll wear-out fast (they recommend changing them monthly and they're £4/5 a pair!!)

As for how long they'll last - we'll see, 7 years of hard-use on the Sonys and they're still going strong despite people bemoaning those as weak and likely to break which just goes to prove that the plural of anecdote isn't data (and I believe 70% of the 'they broke easily' comments are from 4-thumbed clumsy-types).

If you compare these to what costs £15 in - say - HMV or ASDA - you have a REAL bargain here tho.
