Cannot find this on the Asda web site and the poster does not say if it is in-store only or not.

While this is a cheap price, it will perform like a dog.

The Celeron is a slow, old processor, and 512mb is just not enough to run Windows Vista (even Basic)

A 80Gb hard drive is a small hard drive in todays world, and a 16" widescreen monitor will be painful to use.

For anyone considering this, just keep looking here for a Dell offer at the low end and you will get much more "bang" for your money.

This Dell posted a few days ago is a good example.

Admittedly it is system unit only, but for £160 you get a much better CPU, twice as much memory, and Vista Home premium.

Even with 1Gb of ram this will perform MUCH better than this Acer.

Well plenty of others agree with me as your Acer is already voted minus 120 degress cold.

Others have not give any comments, but I thought it fair to give a reason for saying it is bad buy for anyone considering buying it.

Even at £197 you are just buying yourself years of swearing at a computer for being so slow.

You say you can expand, but why buy a bad machine in the first place and then spend more money expanding. Why not just buy a decent machine in the first place.

Anyway for the average non technical user it is difficult to upgrade the CPU and even if you upgrade everything else you are still stuck with a slow CPU.

Much better spec refurbs at pc world for less than this, no screen but most people have an lcd or plasma tv nowadays so use that.

you still upset you carnt get one try asda eastlands in manchester if i have to do all the leg work for you and your responce is still has not much point to it if you bother to look at it .as pc world do have refirnished ones its still hit and miss as these are available right know

To be honest, I thought the memory stated on here must have been a typo.

Surely, not even Asda/Acer wouldn't try to combine Vista (alebeit Basic) with 512Mb RAM.

Just seems odd!
