"Ordered on Thursday evening (UK), It was on various Dispatched status until Wednesday early morning changed to “Dispatched”. I think they ship to near shore and on confirmation change the status to dispatched. I received on Thursday evening. I was lucky as wife was at home as I never got deliver notice from amazon or supplier. Phone is Korean model with local application installed."

Anil Gopalakrishnan, 31 March 2014

Heh, I'd have been quite happy to receive a Korean model if I'd ordered a D802 - the Korean model has a microSD card slot and removable battery, although only a 2600mAh compared to the 3000mAh of the D802.
"I think this phone is a grey import. No instructions or warrantly enclosed. Charger is 2 pin with travel adaptor. Contacted sellar but no warranty or instructions yet. I am not happy with the service. I have not yet used LG G2 so cannot comment of its performance. Are Amazon encouraging grey imports on their market place. If so I will be more careful with future purchases"

Great phone, nearly stretched to it but isn't this £55 cheaper from Simply Electronics?
Everyone bear in mind that WP8.1 is now released for developers.

I am not a developer but I have dev-unlocked my Samsung Ativ S and updated it last night with WP8.1, resetting it to USA region and language in order to take advantage of the Cortana app (only available to USA at present).

Well worth going through the few basic and simple steps to get it dev-unlocked - check online for guides, it is free to do and means you will always get updates as they are released rather than having to wait for carriers to release them. Here is a guide but there are others

Bear in mind your warranty will be void yadda yadda yadda.

Anyway, WP8.1 has a load of great new features and I love it. Such stuff as a really useful notification/quick app centre, three columns of tiles, Cortana, improved IE11 with lots of features and unlimited tabs, battery sense, wifi sense, storage sense apps, transparent start screen tiles with paralax backgrounds, a gesture based keyboard, like Swype but even faster, "quiet hours" app for muting calls and notifications whenever it suits, "inner circle" option to allow important people to break through "quiet hours", improved camera function and no doubt plenty of other useful features.

Give it a go.

Found an interesting post on the Nokia forum regarding battery life from someone who is getting a good length from a charge here: http://forums.wpcentral.com/nokia-lumia-1020/262870-lumia-1020-battery-drains-heavily.html#post2414371

I had already turned off double touch to unlock, but not turned down touch sensitivity. Last try before I contact O2 to try and get the battery replaced.

just tried it in the O2 shop this afternoon, to be honest, the screen is not very sharp, and the interface......not my cup of tea.....good price for whoever like and want a windows phone.....by the way, I took a very blurred 41 mega pixels photo in the shop....lol

The screen is not very sharp? It's over 720p and it's ppi is better than the iPhone 5S, so I have no idea what you're talking about.

And as for muckspreader1, it's the best camera phone by a million miles, with ten times the detail of any other camera phone. Just look at the examples, nothing comes close, especially when zooming!

Don't worry about the troll that is muckspreader. He lives by his name. He appears in most Windows Phone threads and spouts complete garbage. I think he's just lonely and sad.

The camera isn't the best in all instances owing to the slow startup and shot-to-shot time. It won't be a great camera for everyone. Had this on the Refresh deal a few weeks ago for £240. In my experience battery life was poor and the camera, whilst taking excellent photos in many instances, had a few shortcomings. This, coupled with the fact that I couldn't get a lot of the apps I'm used to using - even official apps that did exist were pretty poor - meant that I ended up selling the phone on for the £240 I paid for it. Some of my friends have this phone and love it though so not everyone will be the same. Assuming that it is simply the best camera FULL STOP though is simply not true as every camera has its advantages and disadvantages.
The battery life seems very hit and miss, in that some people get reasonable battery life and others do not. I believe it may be firmware related like the 920 was on release still, but it could also be some bad batches.

For comparison, I have the 1020 from the O2 Refresh deal, and get less than a day battery life with hardly any use and with the same apps on it I had on my HTC 8X, which got almost 3 days on a single charge. Considering the similar specs (1020 has a better camera, twice the ram, more storage and an AMOLED display but is otherwise virtually identical spec wise), there should definitely not be this difference in battery life.

As a new convert to wp8 id advise caution if your coming from android or ios. Wp8 runs lovely, fast and fluid. However app availabilty is limited and what there is seems in my limited experience a poor effort compared to ios / android.

For example - fb. App looks good but it is constantly giving me an unable to fetch data message. 6snap (snap chat from rudy huyn) works well but doesn't give notifications in the notification bar. Adverts everywhere.

Only app that I've found so far that's as good is flixster.

Oh and the windows store is a mess - think the play store two/ three years ago.

I'm only glad I've traded a 3g S3 for a new 4g lumia 920 with a bit of cash left over. Come upgrade time I doubt I'll go wp again.

If you want any specific app advice let us know; a lot of folk on here have some excellent knowledge.

Should really be deleted but HUKD have seemingly got a random approach to what is acceptable and what is not.
I've just asked Nokia chat about UK warranty on international/grey imports. Their response:

Robbie (9:23:47)
As for your concern, I would like to inform you that in United Kingdom we do not support international warranty.

Hot price, but I'm out.

Don't buy this! Its a horrible phone. I have had it for tree days and returned it, as is ridiculously uncomfortable to hold in hands, sound volume is low, it's a Windows Phone (loads of limited functions), and perhaps the biggest and most serious problem - useless touchscreen. I have read in the windows phone forums about that and the issue turned up to be common with every device sold as its a software issue.
The only good thing about the phone was the battery life, wasn't that bad.

Not recommended!

Cold, grey import, likely no warranty and customs, vat etc.

From amazon mate, said white and if is grey just return it. Don't need to go cold on it

By grey import I am not talking about the colour. These devices will not be manufactured for the UK market and will not have a valid warranty in the UK. There is also the possibility it will not function correctly on UK mobile frequencies.

very good price for a phablet, where these types go for 500+ been looking,at this but promised myself to not by any gadgets for a year!
Unfortunately this happens often. There will be fans of their Android / iOS / Symbian who will vote cold, there will be people comparing spec to spec without considering the difference in OS requirement, there will also be people voting cold beause they can't see the overall price of phones vs Tarriff when they go on 24 months contract at £XX monthly.

Don't be put off bring good deals to the table.
Voted Hot from me
r these going cheaper around??
or just because of OS???

Depends on the user.
I've got a 32gb card in my SGS3 plus the 16gb on the phone and i've run out of space, so for me, JUST the 16gb would definitely not be enough and therefore a dealbreaker for me unfortunately.
Take It 16gb is enough
Desperately want a white 32gb. No point me having a 16gb, but can't find anywhere that does it in the UK.
To take the chance or to not take the chance.
That is the question .......
kavakava
Yeah - 16GB is just not enough. And Three have probably THE WORST customer service I have ever experienced - even if you take it to the executive level. Rude, rude, rude. Prefer to stay away from that company.

Anyways - DigitaRev have confirmed: "The payment settled upon placing an order with us is the final payment required from you as the import/VAT fees are inclusive of the total payment settled with us."

Also, worldwide local warranty sounds good: "Simply send your product to a local authorised service centre to obtain a repair estimate. Send the estimate to us for approval (we check if the repairs being carried out matches the problems described, and also make sure it is covered by the warranty terms and conditions, e.g. accidental damage is not covered). Once approved, your product will be serviced and repaired with all the costs paid by us." http://www.digitalrev.com/help/worldwide-local-warranty/NDMzNTc5MQ_A_A

Oh yeah - that was another thing. The Sony Xperia Z1 is big & heavy. When a friend saw it, he asked what kind of portable TV that was :) The G2 offers bigger screen in a smaller, lighter body. I'm just concerned about lag reported online.

To many ifs or buts for me, what if the don't agree? it could soon become more complicated and stressful if they disagree with the estimate or suspect accidental damage ect.....

This statement would worry me, seems like they are trying to cover their backs and give them excuses of why they won't pay up!

I paid £51 less and 32gb memory

That's nice for you, but you're missing the point.

There should be another £70 VAT on top of that price, and there will be if it's stopped by customs and properly checked. There may also be a handling charge depending upon who it's shipped with. Also, unless LG has changed their tune completely (which I doubt, as no other phone manufacturer does), then you won't have a warranty with that - or not one that you can use in the UK at least. Returns to the supplier also have the possibility of becoming troublesome and expensive. And as it's coming from HK then you may have to wait for up to a week for your phone, even with a decent courier.

If everything goes great, you manage to get an honest seller, your delivery happens quickly, you never need your warranty, and you avoid paying the VAT in this country that you should pay then it can work out nicely for some. But with all things considered, many would rather just pay the extra and know they won't have any possible dramas - and sometimes even end up paying more for a product that ends up with long lead times and no warranty of use whatsoever.

This is why I don't usually bother buying from overseas unless the item has an international warranty (as stated by the manufacturer themselves - not by a bloke on eBay), and unless it's at least 25% cheaper (to allow for the VAT and customs charges, should it be stopped and charged - as it rightly should be), and as long as I don't also mind a wait for an item. Usually I'm only interested in things from overseas that are exceptional value compared to the UK or that can't be bought here (but offers extra features that I want) - such as maybe a Korean model of this LG G2 or a Japanese model of the Xperia Z series.

It can sometimes work out lovely, but other times also go very wrong. Where you bought from looks like an Australian market G2 sold by an eBay seller from Hong Kong. It should have cost you around £420+ with VAT and wotnot, and you'll likely have a nightmare if you ever need anything done to it under the warranty period. Some people just don't want the risk or hassle.

Hence why I opted to buy from Three, any problems just take it back instore and if it can't be fixed then a like for like replacement. Peace of mind is worth paying abit extra for.

Have you got the phone yet? I'd be interested to know whether 16GB is restrictive.

Got it yesterday. I don't have a problem with 16gb (10.5 available) as I had a Nexus 4 16gb before and didn't even fill half of that. I only keep a few hundred tunes and about 15 apps from the play store and I still have over 8.5gb available, plenty enough for my needs.

Obviously if you keep alot of content on your phone then there might be a issue with only 16gb.
