im not doubting this post but how can i be sure its 1080p thanks

I have one. Bought it in November for £870. Excellent TV for the price, be wary that some have had issues though (banding, buzzing etc).

I can confirm it does full 1080p over DVI, VGA, Component and HDMI.

Because of this: 1920 x 1080 screen resolution :)

heated this up a bit ;)

This is a great price for a full res lcd.

wow I can't believe how cheap 1080p and LCD's in general are becoming

Why bother with expensive 1080p sets until 1080p comes properly online (in the distant future) and by then the prices will have dropped massively.
In the meantime everything will be broadcast at, or downscaled to, 720p, already giving a far superior picture. Upscaled 1080 looks terrible and in the US they're getting more returns on these due to customer dissatisfaction than any other media device.
#9
But doesn't the xbox 360 support 1080p ??
#10
Not quite. A software update will allow X-box users to gain 1080p upscaling on current games and DVDs and native 1080p on possible future compatible HD DVD titles, but Microsoft hasn't yet announced future games that will have 1080p natively.
#11
So although my 360 has a 1080p setting, nothing i play on it will actually be displayed in 1080p at the moment ?
#12
if it can it will be upscaled.

A good 720p set will easily outperform a crap 1080p set. Its just a number people, don't believe the hype:thumbsup:

I think after reading a LOT of these posts i'll leave this one, till the next 1080p tv comes along in my price range. the last thing you need after spending a wad of cash a on TV is a list of faults.

The reason I am looking at 1080p is to connect a media centre PC to. If you have 42 inches of computer monitor then you really want a high resolution. The cost of a 30" monitor is still more than the cost of this.

Adidas Addict is dead right. More pixels does not always mean better picture, especially if its a Goodman. Go to Currys (if poss) and check for yourself how good it is.
