for £99, new, 28" and widescreen. voted hot. perfect for kids. i have my old samsung 28" widescreen crt in the kids room. with 2 of them, theres no fighting to see the screen like they used to with the 14" portable.
i might even get one of these for my mum, she only has a poxy 21" square tv

Someone will no doubt pooh-pooh Goodmans but we have had our 28" set for about 10 years and it it goes on and on and on and on and on......

One of the best TV buys I have ever made.

definitely a great price - well done goggsy

Excellent price, poor brand. Decided to stay well away from cheaply made CRTs after all my past geometry/blurring/lines moving down screen/flickering problems.

wow im building my own pc but well - BUILDING UR OWN TV - thats hardcore

just read the buy bit o well

what inputs will this have????

i guess Contrast ratio worries are non existent on CRTs arnt they?

This is an excellent price for what seems to be a rather good TV for those not having a HD source (most people). This will probably show SD television with a better picture than most HD televisions.

Looks like my old JMB 28incher and if its anything like my JMB you'll get a good few years before something goes wrong with it!

Had mine 6 years and the only problem ive had is audio going abit mad recently!

Bargain!!!

I think everyone more or less agrees now that most brand CRTs (even the lesser known ones) are pretty good and lasts forever, just because CRT technology is so old that any half-intelligent factory can churn one out.

Voted HOT! And considering getting this than splurging another few hundred extra for a flat screen of a similar size.

28" crt is equivilent to a 26" flat lcd

I have ordered one of these (last thursday) for my daughter who has just moved out of home, as yet has not turned up but will let you know how good it is!!?

Thinking of buying one of these, buy have a question. If Im using an analogue/ariel signal as the input to this TV, does that mean the TV will have black borders on either side of the screen?

No - you usually have a button on the remote that will stretch the screen to full width if you want......at least mine does and I assume its standard. (Many channels transmit in widescreen now even on analogue)

Stretch .....nooooooooo......I hate when i go round to a friends house and see the wrong aspect ratio on their tv which makes everything look fat.

I honesty don't understand how some people think it looks normal ?? :?

With a SD picture on a widescreen TV, you usually have the strecth or the bars and you can usually choose. I prefer the bars on shows that aren't widescreen, but that's just me.

I hate to say this but the great thing about a CRT widescreen is the fact that if your youngest likes to put their hands all over the screen and tap the favourite characters, no matter how hard they try a glass front tends to stop it.

However, put my 10 month old in front of my new LCD, she likes to slap the screen to see the rainbow colours produced from the screen regardless of who's on the TV . . .

A lesson learned :)

That's also why you musn't take speaker covers off when you have toddlers. Those nice, expensive speaker cones are what they like to poke their fingers through:-(

this tv lasted all of 2 weeks after having been lost in transit, it has now been returned as it started smoking. They have now run out of stock but I would stay away
