It's a great price for the product... however, I can't help thinking that if you have a TV modern enough to accept an HDMI connection, it was likely to have shipped with a built in digital tuner anyway.

Voted hot anyway based on price/performance for those who do own analog goggleboxes. :)

that's not really a truism. Most tv's with HDMI don't come with DVB-T build in, especially the lower end of the market. It seems to be a luxury of the more expensive models

the box price is good but not sure about the quality. freeview requires great site of signal and so it will be useless if you dont get the signal.

Anyone know if you can connect this to a TFT monitor? Maybe using a HDMI to DVI cable?

From my experience these are not worth £2.79 never mind £27.99! Fine as just another standard freeview box but as you can get these for £19 odd why spend the extra? The upscaling is non-existant so it will not improve the picture on an HD TV that does not have a built in tuner.

From your experience what is worth spending money on? You are saying it is not worth £2.79 - so what is wrong with it - even just as a standard Freeview box?
