Am i missing something but i cant see a optical input?? surely at least 1 optical input should be the bare minimum on surround sound systems nowadays.
#8
Would this be able to connect to a 360 console via the optical out?
banned#9
Dont know, i think you could use the audio white and red to the front of the amp and the yellow to to the tv

I'm sure the price is great, but personally I wouldn't touch Goodmans with a bargepole. They are not a manufacturer - they just brand other people's cheap stuff. Personally I would put your 35quid towards something better. LG is a proven make which has a great reputation.

It goes without saying, that if you can't afford more than £35, then this will undoubably do the job temporarily.

Got of these for my dad for his study to use on his xbox 360. Plan to get one of these to convert the optical from the 360.

http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=29293&criteria=optical%20coaxial&doy=12m6

I'm sure Goodmans are not the best in the world, but its fine for a small room, its £40!

which one do i need

Digital Optical to Digital Coaxial Converter

Our Ref: coaxout

Optical out on your MD but only Coaxial in on your TV or Receiver? This is what you need.

This little converter will take a standard Digital optical input and change it to a usable coaxial output for connection to a wide array of devices

* Toslink (optical) Input
* Digital Coaxial output (s/pdif)
* Includes power supply
* Size of unit - (h)72mm x (w)47mm x (d)22mm
* Silver colour

or

Digital Coaxial To Digital Optical Toslink Converter

Digital Coaxial To Digital Optical Toslink Converter

A handy little box that takes any digital coaxial input and coverts it to a toslink optical output

Mine arrived Friday, works great IMO its a bargin at that price.

Hooked it up to the dvd-recorder via Digital coax

Also plugged the 360 into the input on the front hit surround button on the remote and it should work thanks the to the Dolby pro logic 2

(http://www.dolby.com/consumer/technology/prologic_II.html) which the xbox360 uses over its out :thumbsup:

I'm pretty sure it was coming out in 5.1 although it was a little hard to tell since we was playing a LAN game and had an xbox at the end of the room where the rear speakers were :p

Can you connect this system to a PC?
Thanks
