Goodmans is cutting the cost of HDTV ownership on Monday 3rd December to a paltry £150. It's offering a one-day special on the GTVL20W7HD, a 20-inch LCD TV that normally sells for £200 - a price it will rise to again on Tuesday. Furthermore Goodmans is even throwing in a £40 digital set-top box absolutely free. Looks like it could be the bargain of the year!

I think the delivery is free too

If you want or need to call Goodmans Direct (an 0871 number) ring 02392391000 ('Alba') and ask for Goodmans Direct. (If necessary, say you are barred from ringing 0870/1 numbers from your workplace).

I posted about the portable dvd player on there http://www.goodmansdirect.co.uk/productdetails.aspx?pid=GDVD80W12&cid=PortableDVD&language=en-GB & it got deleted for some reason.

I thought 49.99 was a good price for a 8" Widescreen Portable DVD Player

shame about the contrast - **** for games

Review

We really wanted to love the GTVL20W7HD. But unfortunately, due to a couple of serious glitches, ultimately the best we can do is not actually dislike it.

:?

why ***** for games traceyace?

I bought this TV last Xmas for near or more than £400 from Next Directory (rip off i know) lasted all of about a week and we had to send it back, poor sound quality, unsure if faulty TV, Speakers or what, also a weird burning and buzzing noise coming from the back.. Otherwise the few days we had it picture quality was fine for Movies, but seemed poor on wii :(

I would consider purchase at this latest price, but ffs goodmans and their UK Mainland only.

anyone not from UK Mainland avoid this offer, you'll be disappointed whenever you go to check out and it says NO CAN DO :(

Reviewed at £349.

Does this TV come with built in freeview? I.e. could I use the freeview set top box in another room?

I would very much doubt it, or why would they bundle a freeview box with it? :?

Ok so i have been to the site and it still says £199 no mention of the offer what do i have to do to get it?
#22
wait till morning?
#23
Ye same any idea when this is going to kick in? Was hoping I could get it after midnight! Hope this isnt all a myth!
#24
could be a blessing in disguise...doesn't get great reviews, but at £149 ??
#25
I found some really good reviews from owners. The only bad review is the one posted above that can be found on several sites. But cummon, even then the review isnt that bad when, like you say, you consider the price!
#26
Still on website at £199.99 :( I'll have to check it when I get up for work and hope it has changed.
#27
I would tend to agree, and after all you can send it back if you're not happy can't you?
#28
hopefully it will be changed in the morning or some point in the next few hours,

seemed a reasonable article by rob mead, he must have had some info on this upcoming deal you would think
#29
hopefully change overnight
#30
nearly 2 hrs later, still the same £199
#31
Nobody in the office yet then...
#32
Shoddy or what?
#33
Ohhh was hoping to get my order in before the rush, looks like its going to be a stampede

Having looked at the specs for the set i'd say its still over priced at £150.
#35
I have got the freeview box its comes bundled with and its very good to be fair.
#36
This seems strange, especially as the information on this set came from the associate editor / entertainment editor of the usually very accurate tech.co.uk website

I have e-mailed him to ask why the deal he clearly raved about has not materialised yet

Just have to see what happens i suppose

if res of 1680x1050 is correct and hdmi then i would doubt you could by a no- name monitor for that price.throw in the dvb and freeview,a bargain.

tho it should be up by now guess it was a misdeal.
#38
It now says the set top box is free, but the price hasn't changed.
#39
its up

Still showing as £199 for me
