Meet Mr Garry Sparrow, just an ordinary bloke with an extraordinary life; almost a devoted and attentive husband, and a sometimes loyal and dependable best friend. By day a very bored and uninspired TV repairman, and now, by night, an accidental time traveller extraordinaire.Among the anonymous streets of Whitechapel you will find a strange alley called Duckett's Passage. It looks to you and I like any other alleyway, but for Gary Sparrow it leads to a war torn London, to barrage balloons and the Blitz, and, in particular, to a little pub called The Royal Oak, to a lonely barmaid called Phoebe...From the combined pens of Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, the award-winning creators of Get Back, The New Statesman and Birds of a Feather, comes a classic BBC sitcom and a modern day love story that spans the decades, starring Nicholas Lyndhurst.Featuring all six episodes of series one:Rites Of PassageFools Rush InIs Your Journey Really Necessary? The More I See YouI Get Along Without You Very WellIn The Mood

Its almost worth taking out a loan and buying up all the copies so nobody else has to go through watching it.
Ok that maybe a bit much, the first few episodes were tolerable...
#11
I just ordered it, all in price including delivery!

I wouldn't necessarily say it is something I would buy, BUT I do love anything with a hint of time travel in it, and I always found the series fascinating when it was on TV. There actually were some genuinely funny moments in there, like when Mr. Lindhurst sits down to play piano in a bomb shelter or something and he plays "I am the Walrus".

Just bought it and will help fill time between rendering.

That's not such a bad idea...
Obviously some of us wearing beige rain macs have walked into another dimension via a back alley behind a war memorablilia shop into a realm where 'Goodnight Sweetheart' was actually brilliant.

I've seen a few episodes every now and then. Not the greatest programme, but I'd say it's worth this price :)

cheers

EDIT: It's not much of a saving though, RRP is only £2.99 apparently

Brilliant...you are a genius!

They could play this on a loop in hospitals.
That will free up the beds in no time, patients will be running for the hills!

I really liked it
The first series was the best with Dervla Kirwan as Phoebe too.
It was something different to watch not like the usual rubbish they have on every night.
There were 58 episodes so I can't have been the only one that liked it.
Each to their own I guess I've never understood how people can watch stuff like Eastenders and Bore a nation street but obviously they do and they seem to enjoy watching too!

:-D:-D

HOT! HOT! HOT!

your just trolling now, aint you got anything better to do than try wind people up ?

I think that it is quite sad to watch Lyndhurst attempt to recreate the popularity of Fools and Horses in these 3rd rate comedies. It was David Jason that was the star and the show was popular because of him. Lyndhurst just performs the same persona in every show he ruins; he has no personality, no charm or comedy timing.

It is your choice...I probably like thousands of things that other people don't. We all have different humour and preferences.
What none of you saw (as the post had to be censored) was me getting abused for saying I didn't like it.

Huh? Do you not have a sense of humour?
Not trying to wind anyone up at all!
You DID NOT see the abuse I received on this post just for saying it's not my cup of tea.

I think a lot of people on here need to grow up and stop crying into their pillows over someone not liking something they do!

You know, you have actually just summed up what I didn't like about the series. In essence, it could have been quite good but Nicholas Lyndhurst did ruin it.
I like NL, so please don't jump on me but he was definately destined to be the sidekick.

I won't!

Good grief, why can't I just say I don't like it without people making cocky remarks and having a go?

Lots of other people have said they don't like it and I agreed with the constructive critisism by Diabetic guy and I get the sarky comment?

Cocky remark? Having ago? Sarky comment? I hope you don't mean me. I was just stating a fact. Oh by the way I did see the abusive remark last night - that was totally out of order. Everyone is entitled to their opinion providing it is not abusive.
