The Nexus is the world's first tablet to feature the new Jellybean operating system, making it truly unique.

Unprecedented power

Another technological first, the Nexus 7 is the first 7" tablet that boasts a quad core processor at its heart. This impressive tablet features a NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor, offering you speedy processing when you're out and about.

There's no underpowered graphics either, as this tablet has a GeForce graphics card, providing 12 core graphics processing.

Everyone has their own priorities on whats important on a tablet, but for me the most important is the screen and the power. This is why there is considerable hype with this tablet. The display is top notch, with the power of a laptop underneath. The microusb port will also serve most peoples needs for external devices.

Camera, no 3g, no SD card you are right are all all things missing, most found even a cheap Chinese knock off. For me though they are very low priorities (camera especially). It all comes down to what and where you intend to use this device.

Very sensible points, and well put. Obviously to have a 'bigger' camera etc would mean it wasn't going to be offered at such a low price. At least they priced it accordingly. (I seem to recall the original iPad/iPhone also had nothing to shout about even by the standards of other devices around at the time, yet they were priced at the top end. At the end of the day if you're just buying it for the name it doesn't matter what's in the box.

I figured I'd get the usual defensive responses from most people, have never understood why people take things so personally! Geez!

Pre-ordered - thanks! Those complaining about Jelly Bean not supporting flash - it will still work, it just won't be available from the play store. Just find the apk online and install from SD card.

It doesn't have SD slot! X)

So just download apk to the 8/16GB storage and install from there

For the those of you who are rather worried about the Nexus's specs, have a look at this review.

    http://www.anandtech.com/show/6054/google-nexus-7-mini-review

For those amongst you who can't be bothered reading it and are concerned about the lack of an SD slot, the Nexus 7 supports USB-OTG which means you can buy an attachment for a few quid (the iPad ones are around £4 on Ebay) and plug your SD card in via that.
I'll be putting my iPad 1st gen up for sale to buy one I think.

No retina display, no deal. ;)

Really it has no SD slot?

Why are they overcharging for this in Europe?

Chinese no brand tegra 3 7" tablets will be way cheaper than this.

I think the main reason for this tablet is going to be gaming anyone who has a tegra 3 and likes games have probably noticed they are bring lots of games out for tegra 3. I have the transformer prime but wont let my 7 year old play on it also he don't like the 10inch screen but likes the htc flyer size 7 inch that the other half has. So as it is his birthday in August we are going to get him one of these then i will use my google account and he can have my games.

SD card would have been good but if he fills it he can delete and still be available from store..

I personally think this is a bargain for the power inside it.
