This is the cheapest Nexus 6 i can find. But you have to wait and go through the Standard O2 refresher cancellation procedure.

Pick the £43 a month 8GB Data Plan with £49.99 upfront, to get a £15.00 per month device plan.

(15*24) + 49.99 = £409.99

You cancel the £28 airtime as soon as you pay off the device plan.

Get the phone unlocked for free from O2. (http://www.o2.co.uk/help/phones-and-devices/unlocking-your-iphone-and-using-it-on-another-network)

When phone arrives, pay off the device plan, £409.99, and cancel the airtime.

UPDATE : It can be 409.99 if you pay 49.99 upfront with 8gb tariff (thanks to robdevil)

32GB

Very tempted but:
Can this all be done online?
And is it straight forward?
#3
So how many people have tried this.
I was always told to pay off your contract if you want to cancel £26x24

any how £409.99 + at least 1 month air time £28 cos when you get the phone the contract has started, do they bill you by the day if you cancel after one days use.
#4
They will either charge you a pro rata amount or nothing it all. Varies for me. If you cancel in 24 hours the amount will be so negligible as to be irrelevant anyway.
#5
Can someone let us know if they got away with this. Either this deal or previous loopholes
#6
tempting
#7
I went for it.

Purchased an LG G3 last week for my brother. Cancelled no probs

Been repeated many times. :)

So can it be cancelled and paid for online or do you need to call them to do it?
#10
Thanks OP ordered, cant go wrong for £409.

Will quidco work on this?

I've done this twice. First with the Samsung galaxy s4, that went well.
Second was my HTC one M8, went ok but had to call O2 a 2nd time when they tried to bill me for the remaining airtime.

Just to confirm:
Buy the phone on the contract.
Don't bother activating the SIM they send you.
As soon as you have your phone call O2 cs and tell them "I'd like to pay off my device contract in full now, and cancel my airtime contract."

They'll charge you pro-rata based on when you received the SIM, which might be a few days before you receive the phone.
They might try to charge you the full month but just check your bill and complain if they do.

ok 02 said this:
O2 refresh is pay monthly contract that allows you to change your device as often as you like and separates the cost of your device and tariff, into two payments. You pay no more than you would do on a standard contract, but the difference is you have an airtime plan for your minutes, text messages and data, and a device plan to cover the cost of your device.
If you want a new device, all you need to do is pay off the device plan, which is an interest-free consumer credit agreement, and you don't pay anything for the remaining months of your old airtime plan, then you can choose a whole new Refresh deal including a new device plan for your new phone/tablet

From past refresh thread im sure I have seen quoted, cashback sites check if you have been a customer for 3 months+ for payout.

This is good info..
How about the unlock code?
Surly this should be done prior to cancelling the airtime (paying the phone upfront) if you need the phone unlocked?

Also do you have to wait to receive the code or can you request the code and cancel airtime at the same time?
Hope that all makes sense!

GF has been on about one of these for Christmas, but she wants the white version. Why only blue? :(

Tempted, but I honestly don't need this at all! Is it really that much of an upgrade from a Nexus 5?

Not average. Looks average yes, specs not so much

Has Google gone down the expensive route with the new Nexus? I thought they were in the business of providing quality but reasonably priced products.

mhh my question for the ones who tried tested this refresh method, can you cancel the airtime within the request or do you lose the request?

Not any more. Now they've king of the market they can charge what apple and samsung charge, although the newer kit supposedly feels more premium. The likes of asus, lg and lenovo will be breathing a sigh of relief

Did you not pay 49.99 upfront?

for the unlock code you have to fill out an online form. To pay off the phone and cancel airtime you have to ring up.

Tempted. Had bought a Lumia 1020 on the recent refresh deal, but struggled with the laggy/lack of apps.

Went back to my Nexus 4 last night, after updating it to 5.0. Runs perfectly, struggling to justify the upgrade though..

Thanks. So there is no way or gone unheard off, when fill form and cancel, both at same time o2 can refuse as the airtime has been cancelled?
#36
So have they dropped the Nexus 5 price or aren't there any left for sale?
#37
Ordered and Quidco tracked at £35.... bonus if it pays out!!
#38
Sounds like a great deal!
However, I bought the Samsung galaxy note 3 two days ago on the refresh contract. I phoned yesterday and then again just now and tried to cancel and have been told to phone back again tomorrow to cancel as they haven't generated my bill!

Getting worried that this may not work as the lady I spoke to said I would have to return the phone.

Does this sound correct?... Or are they using delaying tactics?

In a couple months we will be hearing about how awesome the Galaxy S6/Xperia Z4 specs are for release in April.

Seems you can only be on the cutting edge with Android phones for 4 months max. I thought PC parts were bad :p

Ideally I would like to wait until the next Note or Nexus after this one before I upgrade from my S4, but we'll see how that goes when the temptation arises for a shiny new device.

Requested mine yesterday evening and it arrived this afternoon. All 5 refresh deals I've done have been a similar timescale.
