Yes I listed that earlier, and had it removed, with this message from admin: Thank you for your post, I'm sorry but unfortunately the company you recommended (yellowstone-partners.com. ) does not meet our merchant criteria & is not suitable for Hotukdeals. I suppose this deal has at least got the 16 & 32GB models also.

I bought two from expansys last month for this price - both were immaculate, cane with genuine chargers and genuine, unopened Asus cases. very very pleased with them, and with lollipop they're like new
#4
Used to have this, a very good tablet.
#5
i brought one of these last month, mine look like it had never been used, in great working order

Both me and my wife have this tablet and the lollipop update has made it unusable. Tried the factory reset / clear cache etc but still runs poorly.

I have the 2013 version and my mum has the 2012 version and her's is so slow and its not even on lollipop its on 4.4.2 Kit Kat should of kept it on 4.3. I definitely would recommend the 2013 version but the 2012 version doesn't cut it now.

That's HUKDspeak for "Ah, we don't have an arrangement to cream something out of the deal with that seller. So HUKD will point you at a different, more expensive outlet instead so that we make money, because that's more important than the customer getting the best price :o)"

I'd agree not unusable but definitely hobbled by lollipop. A very good deal if you avoid the update for then.
#12
Good deal but like others have said, avoid the lollipop update. Lollipop has made my Nexus 7 (2012) extremely sluggish. Keep it on Jellybean or KitKat.
#13
good fine

You can flash kitkat back on it. Not terribly hard to do and it's worth it.

As others have said the latest update has made my 2012 nexus 7 really slugglish.

Its gutting to be honest as its been an amazing tablet and there's nothing I can do without rooting it. I'm hoping a new update is released soon to fix the issues but I wouldn't be surprised if this release was allowed on the 2012 model to make people think about upgrading.

bought 2 of these last time they were on for my kids for Xmas. fast delivery and immaculate condition. boxed in non Google packaging but other than that u would never know they weren't brand new. upgraded to 4.4.4 then stopped and they were running perfectly. just sent this to a buddy who has just bought another two. thanks for posting
#18
word of warning don't upgrade it to lollipop android 5 loads of bugs and will make it lag trust me I've done it and reflashed to KitKat 4.4.4

Wouldn't touch a 2012 one now. I have one and it's virtually useless. They cheaped out on the memory and mine now freezes, stutters and takes minutes to do what used to be seconds. Going in the bin soon, it's that bad. I've done all the 2012 edition tricks and none speed it up for more than a day or so. It used to be so fast.
#20
Can someone please post a link on how to reflash to kitkat?
The ones ive read look like an astronaut exam!

I have a 2012 model and have to agree with everyone else - it's incredibly slow, sluggish and stutters, even before installing Lollipop on it. I have to do factory resets every few months to make it fast again, which is not an ideal situation.

If it used to be fast it they obviously didn't cheap out on the memory for the time, time moves on

No, this is something else. it's a well known problem with the first generation model. the RAM speed drops off a cliff after a while, much as solid state drives did on PCs until they added fixes for it.

I use mine often and never have issues apart frm the occasional stutter.( mine is the 16gb which is more bearable than the 8gb versions or so i hear).

I think if you use it within its means, with no excess applications downloaded or running it is very pleasant to use.

It is still a good bit of kit and for the price i would bet there is not much better on the market.

agree, avoid the 2012 model for all the above reasons. Unusably slow now, such a shame as it was awesome when I first bought it.

Can't say I agree with this completely. Until the update of 5.0, mine was still unbelievably fast. However, it didn't have it stacked with endless apps etc.

So if you're using a normal amount of apps, and have over 5gb of the 16gb left, it will run brilliantly.

I had nexus 2012 from new, It packed in 2 weeks over the warrenty period, would never buy an Asus tablet again... They may have had good spec at the time but terrible quality.
#28
my nexus 7 12 never an issue with it. iv rooted and put a custom room on it based on cyanogen two years ago and it has been sound since maybe I got a good chip of memory. They are only good for media machines and sat navigation and browsing really imo but for that price is a bargain software is important root it and change it your laughing
#29
I bought a refurb 18 months ago and not had any issues. Very easy to root and use a custom ROM like paranoid android with gapps mini for a fast bloatfree tab. This is a great price.
