After a lot of pain with PC World and Currys, running around, I decided to just get it from John Lewis for their 2 year guarantee

Now back in stock!! Will go quick no doubt...

EDIT: Managed to get a price match with Carphone Warehouse, but no longer on their website - still worth a try for £179.99

Just to keep reminding people that chance for a bit of £back with John Lewis nowadays. They recently joined Nectar eStores

Does an extra 12 months on something this cheap and disposable really sway people?

I suppose since john lewis only have something like 40 stores and make vast vast profits on their clothing and home wares means they can probs afford to add insurance to electronics.

Sorry, but do you mind repeating that for me again?
£200 as cheap and disposable?

It's a tablet computer. Of course I expect a warranty that lasts more than a year.
We're not talking about some OEM pieces of hardware here. <_<

#2

#3

It does say:
We don't expect you to find a lower price at another high street competitor for the same product, sold with the same service condition

I am sure two years guarantee will mean its not the same service conditions, Let us know how you get on.
#6
will do it tomorrow - today's not a valid date for submitting the claim
#7
I have just submitted mine ok.

I believe it has to be in stock but CPW were not showing any stock when I asked and they did price match them so worth a try.

Great tablet i would recommend this over the kindle fire and ipad mini

Very different really. Their main similarity is Vanilla Android, and Quickest updates from Google. The actual devices have big differences in abilities, and are made by different companies, Lg and Asus.

Submitte a price match will see how I get on

I guarantee that in 13 months time it'll be almost obsolete and worthless, the way tech moves on now.
Most people will use it for the first year and want the next thing by the time its out of standard guarantee.
200 quid is disposable technology money.
Especially if you're buying it for kids/teens.
Next Xmas they'll be bored with it and want something newer and better.
The average shelf life of a windows laptop is 13 weeks now.
Less with tablets. IPad 4...how soon after the iPad 3?

I bought a Panasonic Plasma which they price matched when I bought it. I found it even cheaper within 28 days and they honoured a further price match of about £45, (going from memory)
#29
Who do you email to get price match quote? Anyone have a link to JL's customer service? Thanks
#30
Not bad, going to go there tomorrow with the £30 JL vouchers which I've just found and see if they can price match with CPW, and if they will then I will be definitely purchasing this, so hot from me!
#31
we got ours at pc world they price matched with CPW and we also got 10% of 20 pound different which was £177

Yes - bought a top of the range Panasonic microwave from JL on impulse, and then realised that it was quite a bit cheaper at Best Buy (before it closed). I can't remember how I did it, but I got the difference back easily - I think I just phoned them up the same day and they had a process for doing the match & refund to card.
#33
I bought a nexus 7 three weeks ago and johnlewis matched the cpw price of 179 last weekend. Just my two cents.
#34
how do you price match online...
#35
Ordered, and queried price match. Lets see! If they refuse it's easy to cancel.

Great company, and a 2 year warranty to boot.
#36
Does anyone know if and when John Lewis will stock the 3G version? :)
#37
Will the 3G model be available in retailers like John Lewis and if so when? :)
#38
very tempted now that hmv have offered me my money back for my dud nexus 7 16gb i bought on release. double the capacity will be totally worth it.
anyone know the health of hmv? don't want to send it back if they're too skint to refund
#39
My nexus10 came today and Sammy leaflet inside says its got a 2yr warranty. Not sure bout this Asus one may be worth someone checking.

We ordered from JL about 4 weeks ago for £199 before the CPW price came down. 3 weeks later £21 off the price @ CPW and JL refunded the difference without any problem...HTH
